2-1 loss to Vancouver. From top of the table to 4 points from missing the playoffs in 1 game. The Western Conference is nuts.

We really needed to win that, both for ourselves and to keep Vancouver from becoming another contender for a playoff spot.

Big stretch of games coming up... the battle at San Jose in around a month will be crucial. That's the 7th team lingering just below the line... lose that one, and the gates are open

So...lost at home to the only team who hadn't won on the road.

The Dynamo have won 3 out of a possible 15 points against the conference's worst teams. If they don't make the playoffs, that's gonna sting.

Oh hey...losing at home to another crappy team. Galaxy score the first 2 but at least we're looking like we give a crap now and have pulled one back.

18 shots thus far. Hit the woodwork twice. In addition missed two sitters. Just one of those games.

And yet 5 dropped points at home to the worst 2 teams in the league means that this team is fighting for their playoff lives instead of fighting for 1st in the Western Conference. If the Dynamo win those games, they are in 2nd 3 points behind Vancouver.

In potentially hilarious rules, a FC Dallas clerical error during the submission of the roster and subsequent changes to it before their game against Orlando may mean they have to forfeit the game and lose the point they earned. No confirmation if MLS will enforce the penalty but FIFA statutes clearly state that what they did was not OK and subject to forfeit.

If they forfeit that game and miss the playoffs by a single point...oh man, let the hilarity ensue.

How does Chicago look for the last home game? Any chance Schwienstiger doesn't play?

That was a massive home win. Five Thirty Eight odds for making playoffs jumped from 78% to 95%

I think we can go ahead and assume this weekend's game against SKC is going to be a loss (playing a team twice in 4 days is tough and with this being on the road...I'm not optimistic) but that's OK as long as we beat Chicago on the final day. It's probably going to come down to getting 3 points against them though.

Good news is that the 3 teams behind us have some pretty tough games this week.

Dallas - Away to Seattle
RSL - Away to Colorado (Colorado sucks but it's a rivalry game)
SJ - Away to Vancouver.

Those same teams close out the regular season at home against LA, SKC and Minnesota respectively.
