Yes. What I've gathered from various friends in the neighborhood... Elderly woman who lived in the house was bedridden and her son lived next door. Woman's "friend" has been bad news and son went to house to help mom. Thought the friend was armed (might have been) and shot. Unclear on whether there's been an arrest.

That's basically it. Son owns the duplex and lives/works next door. He's a good guy from what I know. Son moved mom there in part to get her away from bad guy.

"The Harris County Precinct 1 Constable's Office, which patrols the area, said law enforcement has responded to the home three times this year but none of the calls appeared to involve violence or result in an arrest."

Yes I believe it's been an ongoing bad situation.

Description
A multi-vehicle road rage incident and crash along Houston's Loop 610, spanning from Ella Boulevard to West Loop South near San Felipe, resulted in a shooting involving a black Chevrolet Camaro, a silver Cadillac Escalade, and a white pickup truck. Houston police are trying to piece together a road rage incident involving three vehicles that stretched for miles along the 610 Loop, leaving two people shot and others injured in a crash.

A 7-year-old child was inside one of the vehicles during the incident. Police said an armed detention officer with Harris County was driving another.

Investigators said the incident appears to have started near Ella Boulevard and 610 before ending near 610 and San Felipe.

Exactly what happened between those two points is still under investigation.

Houston police said three vehicles were involved: a black Chevrolet Camaro, a silver Cadillac Escalade and a white truck.

At some point while the vehicles were traveling along 610, police said some of them hit each other. Shots were also fired.

Investigators have not determined who fired or which vehicle, or vehicles, the shots came from.

"We know shots were fired. We're not sure which vehicles fired and what," an HPD lieutenant said during an early morning briefing.

Police said three people were inside the silver Escalade: a man, a woman and a 7-year-old child.

The man, who police identified as the driver, was shot once. He was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.

The woman was shot once in the arm and was hospitalized in stable condition. Police did not report the 7-year-old being injured.

Police said its driver got out and became involved in a physical fight with people from the Escalade.

The driver then got back into the truck and drove away, leaving his female passenger behind, according to investigators.

Investigators said the driver of the black Camaro is an armed detention officer assigned to the Harris County Detention Support Services Bureau.

A Harris County official said the officer has worked for the county for about two years. Police said he was not injured.

HPD said everyone believed to have been involved in the incident has been located and is cooperating with investigators.

One weapon had been turned over to police as of the early morning briefing. Investigators said they had not yet searched two of the vehicles and were also planning to search another area where evidence might have been thrown.

HPD's Major Assaults Division is investigating alongside Harris County investigators.

Police said they expect to present the case to the Harris County District Attorney's Office once more evidence is collected. No charges were expected immediately as investigators work to determine who fired, how many weapons were involved and exactly what happened during the miles-long incident.

Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed what happened or has video, including dash camera video from 610, to contact HPD's Major Assaults Division or Crime Stoppers.
