Are there any bars in Midtown anymore? I legitimately have not been down there since 2017. The last time I was there was PubFiction when the Howdy Club was still there for the Wake Forest bowl game.

PubFicton is Medellin now, Dogwood and shot bar are still there most of the places are latin clubs I think.
Do young professionals with real jobs still live in Midtown or nah?

I know a few that do but they have downtown jobs. its definitely not in the number that it used to be. Heights area is now where the largest number of young professionals go.

Only mildly believable because this has always been a very real thing in NOLA. I saved a buddy from getting into a Tahoe with 2 scantily clad and flirtatious "persons of color" in the French Quarter once. Hell, Miami too...When me and some buddies went there for the 2007 Aggie game, TWO out of the 5 of my friends got solicited, drugged and then robbed by scantily clad and flirtatious"persons of color". In completely separate and unrelated instances after we all split up for the night.
Luckily, they almost never actually kill you. Just drug you so you becomoe a complete ret@rd for 2-3 hours and they can rob you of your money and possessions.

Man, I lived in Midtown 2010-2014 and it was prime time. I could walk to work downtown. Walk immediately to HH at Woodrows after, then see what the bros were up too and walk to them…. Now, now Fn way I would way I would walk anywhere there. So man ghetto clubs, wanna be "bars".. when Wooster's closed, you knew it was over…and I am old and White, so nothing is for my demo now.

I remember chasing a shoplifter down the parking lot when I worked at Walmart in high school. When he ran out across the Gulf freeway at FM 528, I made the executive decision that $4.50/hr wasn't enough to get me playing in traffic. He made it across without getting hit and was chased into the woods by Webster PD. When the Webster PD guy got tired of beating the bushes looking for him, he just yelled out that he was going to start shooting at the bushes one at a time until he figured out which one the guy was hiding behind, the guy finally stepped out with his hands up. Guess he wasn't really sure if the cop was bluffing or not.
