These judges need to be reigned in. This is absolutely ridiculous!

Publishing that list seems like a poor choice by the PD or the news station. I know that kind of stuff is easily findable online, but we don't need to hand out a starter kit of what to search for.

The old CW of 10% for bond is a thing of the past. Because the courts don't go after bail jumpers the bond companies don't need the 10% anymore.

Maybe not. The feds are charging him now, probably because they know that Sean Teare will ole him right the F out of the revolving door that his Harris County jail.

And every single judge that does not follow the letter of the law and reduces or eliminates bail, early releases or DA that refuses to charge and prosecute should be tarred and feathered.

And i"m not joking about tarring and feathering. That sht needs to make a comeback in a serious and very public way. Because government employees need to have that voice of fear in the back of their heads, always.

I'm curious as to how successful the feds are going to be with these charges…claiming jurisdiction because the car was manufactured in another state.

Seems like a stretch (a la US v. Lopez).

Don't get me wrong - I appreciate the feds picking up the slack since Harris County obviously isn't going to do anything, but I just don't see these charges sticking.

When I lived in the Heights, we frequently got birthday, etc , cards in the mail that were previously opened.

Those dindu's at the Cavalcade location at least had the heart to deliver them after they took the gift cards out.

Just saw a hit and run while headed to the HEB at Shepherd/19th. Usual suspects. Hit a black woman's Mercedes. Grabbed a pic of the car/plate and gave it to her. Sure as **** wasn't going to hang around. My civic duty for the month is done. Think I deserve a beer.

Not cameras but my brother had his GMC 1500 Denali stolen out of his driveway in the Heights this past week. Second time in less than 3 years. Same model of truck both times. Evidently thieves can easily clone GM keys.

Last time his truck wasn't recovered. This time the thieves were unsuccessful in disabling the LoJack and their local constable patrol recovered his truck from an apartment complex 3 miles from his house. They had changed the plates but they actually left his sport coat, kid's car seat, and other effects inside.

Anyway, I was making the link between jamming WiFi cameras and the tech to spoof vehicle keys.

Yeah, I've seen stories on that too. Apparently, modern key fobs can be cloned if they're left too close to doors and windows, as the Young Scientists Club walks by with a wire contraption that copies the code which can then be transmitted to the vehicle.

They say to keep the keys far from the entrance or preferably in some type of Faraday box.

I know it's not the tine, but some tarantula heads had a shootout at the park in Beaumont where my kids get their tennis lessons. Directly next door to the library we frequent as well. We don't live in the area as we are further out in the woods, but this is generally where we go for those sorts of things. Pretty much all of the tennis students are from the local private schools so I assume business will drop off sharply for the coach unless he relocates.

They used a signal extender to steal my GMC truck out of the El Tiempo parking lot at NASA. All of my keys are in a Faraday box on my entry table now. I have a Faraday sleeve that goes on the fob as well for when I'm out and about.
