Oh man. I went to Galleria first thing in morning with sister and niece visiting. We got there at 9:50am to park in non murder Nordstrom garage and hit up 4 stores over the next hour after they opened at 10am. And when we left at 11, it was down right ghetto and getting crowded. I mean it is a hot Saturday, but goodness that crowd was rough AF. The security signs are wildturn off all bluetooth things in car, etc.. I hadnt been there in years and pretty sure that is the last time.

these days Arabic is probably #3 at Rice behind Chinese and then English.maroon barchetta said:
How is he going to succeed at Rice only speaking Arabic?

Isn't it hard to be a university student in America if you don't speak English? Or am I just old and uneducated?

We had TA's at A&M who didn't speak English in the late 90's (in non-STEM classes too). I can't imagine what it's like in 2026.
You must be really Old Army if the Ho Chi Minh trail was not yet established through the Engineering corridor during your time.

Apparently took a bus. When he left his teammates after checking in at Rice he told them he was "going for a walk."
A guy goes out for a stroll at midnight, is in a town he's unfamiliar with and doesn't speak English. Oh, and did I mention he has cerebral palsy?
Odd all the way around.

The bathrooms in Zachary smelled like rice pee all the way back in the late 80s. I am sure that hasn't gotten much better.

How poor are these people?
I live in a typical middle class neighborhood and at least every other home has some sort of pool. One neighbor put an above ground in their front yard. Bold strategy, but hey you do you.

Houston rapper NFL Cartel Bo identified as suspect in kidnapping case at Cypress home
CYPRESS, Texas Houston rapper Warren Brown, known as NFL Cartel Bo, is facing an aggravated kidnapping charge after a welfare check at a northwest Harris County home led deputies to evidence that a woman had been held captive and later escaped, court records and law-enforcement officials said.
Harris County Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman said deputies responded Sunday to the 15000 block of Darby Retreat Lane after receiving a request for a welfare check. When deputies arrived, they found evidence indicating someone had been held captive inside the home and had escaped. Investigators later located the woman nearby and took her to a hospital for treatment, Herman said.
According to charging documents, Brown abducted the woman on July 21 and held her in a locked closet. The documents allege Brown sexually assaulted the woman, checked on her hourly and refused to let her leave. After Brown left the Cypress home, he was pulled over and arrested July 25 on a charge of aggravated assault of a family member, records show.
