I just got in from washing my wife's car. Was filthy. The rain clearly didn't help and pretty sure made it much worse.

I recommend you take this seriously. Hot Dog Squalls can be pretty devastating, so I would take appropriate shelter when it hits. This poor girl thought sheltering in her hallway would suffice. It did not. She ended up in the ICU.
