So is it just me or has this been the mildest summer anyone can recall? When was the last time we got this late into the year without officially hitting 100 degrees. Doesn't look like we will get there in July either. Seems unseasonably cool.

It has been very mild.
I am not sure if its anywhere near any sort of record low averages but when 95 is your high (currently and based on forecast through 28th) that is pretty amazing.
My lawn needed this year...lower temps + rain.. Previous owners let it get away so we spent quite a bit of time and money on it and its almost the best lawn i have ever had in 10 years of home ownership.
edit: we have been living in an almost permanent 30%+ chance of rain state for months now. Only a handful of days of just pure sunlight....

July 30th in 2019. July 12 last year. This year has been cooler with a lot of rain, but it is actually not all that unusual to make it to late July or early Aug before we hit 100. We make it past mid-July about a third of the time.

I'm convinced the shield or whatever it was called on this thread is real. I'm watching rain come in all morning on radar from the NW and it literally disappears right before it gets to our house in north Dallas.

Right on time too! DFW's highest "normal" temperatures (97) are between July 23 and August 14.

These are the hottest two weeks of the year. And to be honest, low 100's ain't all that bad. I just hate it when it doesn't get below 80 at night.
My wife is one of the parents going to my kid's church summer camp. I mocked her with the forecast for next week this morning.
