Man...losing power for 36 while its -2 to 14 degrees out is probably going to be better than losing power for 36 hours while its 100+ degrees right? I just layered up with all my camping gear, shut the door, and threw multiple blankets on for the most part. It did suck when I would have to go check out all the plumbing regularly of course.

I agree within the house uncontrolled heat would be more miserable (can only take so many clothes off haha); however, with heat issue I can't, off the top of my head, think of as many issues related to the home itself (excluding food loss).

During a summer outage, I feel like I would be ok locking up the house and heading out of town and not worrying about much.

During a winter outage, I would be concerned a tad more about pipes and other issues related to the house...to a point i don't know if I would ever feel comfortable leaving....

Our service organization was supposed to do a park cleanup this morning. I canceled it at 6:30. And now as this thing hits the heat wall, it looks like it's going to dissipate. Past 15 months in a nutshell right there.

Unbelievable lightning show in Rockwall right now. I've seen two blue flashes in the distance after bolts which I assume are transformers.

I was reading my daughter bedtime stories and told her "oh it is almost blown through, go to bed". Soon as I walked out it really got going. Oops. Up over an inch here.

With the rain this year I have only topped off the pool just once and we are almost half way through July!

I typically get mine at the same HD (Coit/Campbell) but did notice that stock was starting to dwindle a few weeks ago. Walmart sells individual gallon jugs (same brand/concentration as the HD 4-packs) but I haven't checked there recently.
