Indeed. The game is not what it used to be at all and as other have said.. This isn't three years ago.. Now there are other good games out there. I have been re-grinding Diablo 3 and Warframe and having more fun than I have with Destiny. Literally logged on just to buy the new OP gun from Xur and hopped off this weekend. Maybe did a public event or two --- but less than 30 minutes. This coming from a Day 1 D1 player who played for hours every weekend.... Now I could honestly care less about the game until Bungie changes. I bought the season pass like an idiot; so you guys can expect to see when the next 4 hour of content DLC comes out in a few months.
And honestly, if you like the idea of doing things in space and the grind for gear and items than yeah -- download Warframe. It takes a bit to get into but at least it is all free.

I'm the same as you. Had days and days of time in D1. Now I don't even play D2. Logged in just to get the gun fron Xur and logged off. I just play Warframe every day. That's a game going in the right direction.

It's not as bad as the start of the sword quest in D1 but it takes a bit to do some of the guns.

Bungie really screwed the pooch with D2 so far. How can you not have the D1 live team interacting regularly with the D2 dev team during development? There are some big management issues inside of Bungie.

so Prometheus lens is getting a massive nerf today. They posted yesterday that until they have time to do proper QA (um, why wasn't QA done before release!?!?) they are going to severely neuter it and make it worthless. They promise to buff it in Jan sometime

I'm convinced a lot of this had to do with the partnering of Activision. The end game and quite frankly the eververse and token system don't feel bungie to me at all.
That said, I've heard rumors that the dev team and the live team don't talk. Which would explain why we have so much of a difference in D1 to D2.
The fact that I can't get a raid ship, a raid sparrow, or a raid gear that does things for the raid seems a very silly.
In fact, I thought I was okay with the whole bright engram thing until the XP issue. I feel stupid for saying as long as I'm able to get it for free by playing the game and get a lot of XP for it I'm fine.
I expect things to be "stuck" until the big year 2 update like TTK expansion. The fact that I can't go back and play missions except for the 3 that Ikora has is silly.
Did you see they also took the Trophy away from Prestige NFs and now it only applies to Prestige Raids? WEEEE

- Adjusted Prestige difficulty rewards no longer grant guaranteed 330 Power items
- Adjusted the difficulty for the normal Calus encounter
Trials of the Nine
- Players who do not own Curse of Osiris may now access Trials of the Nine when a Destiny 2 launch map is featured
Trophies and Achievements - Modified the achievement "The Prestige" and the associated trophy to remove the Nightfall component
- This may now be completed, regardless of Curse of Osiris ownership, by completing the "Leviathan" raid on Prestige difficulty
- Fixed an issue impacting Power level progression from level 289 to 300 for players who do not own Curse of Osiris
- Fixed an issue that would prompt a Curse of Osiris purchase menu when players were attempting to acquire the Scout Report: Mercury item with insufficient Glimmer - Fixed an issue where the word "Nightfall" was not prepended to new Curse of Osiris strikes in the Nightfall Director node
- Adjusted the functionality of Chest Reward Throttles
- Players now receive reduced amounts of loot when opening large numbers of chests in quick succession, rather than nothing at all

Collections
- Fixed an issue where players with over 84 emblems were unable to see all emblems they owned within the collection screen
User Interface
- On player inspection, currency display is no longer visible
- Vendor waypoints are only highlighted when players have enough tokens to earn a reward
- Fixed an issue where some players could not interact with items when they had full inventory
- Players can no longer loot the same chest multiple times in quick succession for Faction Rally tokens
- Fixed an issue where Faction Rally tokens were not being removed at the conclusion of the event for some players
- Faction Rally emblems now display the correct pledge tracker stat
- Fixed an issue where Faction Rally tokens were being removed from players' inventories when the players were creating a new character
- Fixed an issue where some players would not receive a Faction Rally winner discount
Masterworks
- Legendary weapons can now drop as Masterworks for characters above Power level 250
- Masterworks provide bonus weapon stats and generate Orbs on multikills
Engrams
- Legendary and Exotic Engram drop rates have been adjusted down for Public Events, and up for Strike and Crucible playlist activities
- Reduced the chance of a Legendary engram rewarding multiple Legendary items
Xr
- Xr now sells a three of coins consumable item that increases the drop chance of Exotics
- Xr now sells the Fated Engram
- Fixed an issue where Vesper of Radius, the Helm of Saint-14, Graviton Forfeit, and Gemini Jester were dropping with incorrect class mods
- Fixed an issue where the Prometheus Lens Exotic Trace Rifle was outputting too much damage too quickly
- Fixed an issue where Exotic weapons from Curse of Osiris were mislabeled within Exotic engrams
Gift Consumables
- Zavala now sells a Fireteam Gift consumable that provides rewards to the user's fireteam on strike completion
- Shaxx now sells a Fireteam Gift consumable that provides rewards to all players at the end of a Crucible activity
- Tess Everis sells a Fireteam Gift consumable that provides rewards to all players on Strike or Crucible activity completion
Faction Vendors
- Faction vendors now offer legendary gear for direct purchase with Legendary shards and faction tokens
Crucible
- Added invisible physics to keep players from hiding in the Red Bay Box on the Pacifica map
- Adjusted Power Ammo locations on the Eternity map

The Dawning ends on Tuesday, January 9.
So...Snowball fights, Mayhem, The ability to purchase every Dawning Eververse item for Bright Dust, and mini quests/grind for rewards
Of course all the special items from the dawning are going to be put in the Eververse, and not an actual vendor

Man, it is getting more and more disappointing how much of the game is being put in Tess Eververse's hands.

What a sad fall for a game I happily sank my entire life into in D1.
You aren't kidding. Don't get me wrong. I love the destiny universe and still hop on a quite a bit, but this game just isn't as robust as D1. What it did right in the story doesn't make up for the end game.

Osiris was once the champion of the Last City. Vanguard Commander. Seeker of secrets and discoverer of wonders. And then everything changed. How did Osiris go from hero to traitor?
I, like many others, have been really disappointed with how they've abandoned the lore in-game. This is clearly their answer to the "oh crap" moment they had after seeing the response to the DLC, but I really hope they take this moment to push for external content. Obviously an official Book of Sorrows or Grimoire collections would be great but I'd also love to see both canon and fan-fiction novels. Hopefully, they churn these out regularly (once a month or so depending on length), but no word if this is a one and done deal.

I've been playing in short time increments lately, but not long enough to change my profile to show that I'm online. I start playing and within 20 minutes I'm ready to turn it off. That being said, I'll probably grind some heroic strikes this weekend for the forge materials and will raid if anyone is interested. Also I still need to complete the arms dealer part of the quest for the Legend of whatever shotgun and of course the stupid rat king timed challenge.

Warframe has a STEEP learning curve. But once you get on top of it, its fantastic.

So I'm excited about this, but I'm still a bit burned by bungie right now. I mean you have all of this right cool lore, and no substance to back it up with in game.
