Yep, when we completed the raid this past week, I was one more Calus attempt from sending the wife over the edge! That's why I had to jump off as soon as we got the loot. Friendly advice, when she ask how long you plan to be raiding, always over estimate!

Edit:
My wife was conditioned to know that if I told her all we had left to do was take down Oryx, that meant it was going to be a long night.

No worries, I'm not a fan of that strike, and even less when it's a nightfall. So far its taken at least a couple of runs each week to find the groove so we can get a clear. Keep the aggro down and we'll clear it later.

Is there any trick to getting some GD auto rifles? All I get are BS pulse rifles and I'm so sick of them...

I just want a kinetic auto rifles that's at of above my current level lol

Speaking of my wife, I asked her to create a character. And play "as much of the first mission as she could." She went with hunter... and made it to finding ikora before she called it. Shockingly, she did well for not being a current gamer. Camera control is where she struggles.

That said it made me happy that she would partake ever so briefly in my hobbies.

For those of you who don't know I'm also a worship leader. The good lord has provided me an inate talent to hear a song and play it, she also wants to do that with me but gets frustrated with my instruction because it's natural to me. The same thing happened tonight, though she only said I provided too much information for her to process versus just trying to show her on a keyboard or guitar.progress!!!

What tamusc just said. Origin Story is a great kinetic auto rifle, Ghost Primus from the raid is also a decent option as well. You can select the Origin story from Zavala once you finish part of the story line as a reward. Think it was about halfway through the story, when you come back to the farm with all of the other vangaurd leaders. That's another reason to run an alternate character through the storyline to come back and pick up some of those exotic and legendary weapon rewards when you had to choose one of the 3 options they give you. Alternate character story run, just pick the weapons you didn't pick last time! Definitely a grind, but everything in Destiny is a grind!

Oh, and sorry I didn't respond to your PSN message. We were queueing up a raid run right when you sent that to me. Wanted to post on here before I crashed out. If you still haven't run a nightfall yet, I'll be glad to help you out tomorrow! I usually log on between 5 and 6 CST if I don't have a lot of prep for a lab the next day in class or something. Just let me know!

If you want to ease her in to gaming slowly, I know lots of families that really like the LittleBigPlanet games. Kids and spouses can jump in and play those games without a real steep learning curve on controls. Having an attractive gaming wife who also enjoys sports, that's the unicorn the guy is looking for in the video on the crazy hot matrix!!

my wife and I used to play Halo, but i guess she's lost interest in modern games. we'll still bust out the NES from time to time though.

I can't complain. My wife of 23 years loves football & golf so we have that in common. She tolerated me playing way too much MMO in the past so playing a few hours on the PS4 a few days a week is no biggie.

The only video game she likes is jack box 8)

huge shout out to kill0509 and the rest of the gang for taking me all the way through the raid last night. It was super cool of them to walk me through everything and not get frustrated at ALL with my total unawareness of what was going on. What a great group of guys, I had a blast. Thank you SO much. Been playing since early days of Destiny 1 and this was my FIRST time to even attempt a raid, man have i been missing out, what a blast!

Unless you guys want to go in blind, I would suggest having at the rest of the group as guides. It's a very mechanics heavy raid.

If you played d1 after year 2 you will definitely feel like this is a sequel to vinilla destiny and maybe Dark Below, though I started after that. I've read a few articles that state that they feel like D2 doesn't recognize year three or TTK happened.

That said, I love it. I'm obsessed with the lore of the game, and i feel that from the gun to the enemy, it's the best feeling shooter I've played.

Some things are head scratchers like arcstriders being slower than a striker in super when the entire hunter class is centered around mobility. However, much like D1, I expect the QOL and certain aspects of the game to improve over time.
