There were some sequences in that last run of the main campaign where my TV legitimately hurt my eyes. HDR is no joke.
Tried my first NF. I don't really like the timer at all.

Also picked up the other items even though I don't have a titan or a hunter leveled up yet since it is 270 and will help with leveling. I was expecting stuff to be 50-60 shards each but the price is really affordable.
Also, apparently the raid engram we get for our CLAN completing it is raid gear. WHHHHAAAATTTT????!!!! Bungie plz, plz stop showering me with so much kindness. Granted it drops at 10 power.

Apparently Xur scales to your light. I got mine at 270 but saw a pic of it being 240. My max light is 278. So always buy the gear for your alts on your highest light. Awesome change.

I'm just getting stared. What ar soft caps for light? I got stuck for a while last night at 238. About 5-6 public events and 2 lost zones without any drops increasing my level. Ran 2 strikes and got up to 240.
Is there a limit on farming PE? Blue gear tops at 265?

265 is the "soft cap". I'm 285 and my blues and legendaries have scaled with me so they're still dropping above 265. 305 is the hard cap.
265 is where you'll kind of hit a wall and where the things like nightfall/flashpoint/weekly crucible and exotic quests that drop the higher light will help you bump up
Also when doing PE make sure to do the extra steps to turn it Heroic for better drops

Yep, the basics are blues and purples will be slightly above your max power level until you hit around 265. After that, they'll drop @ 5 below your max power level (including faction packages). Only way to make major jumps is through luminous/powerful engrams, exotics, or the planet legendary (Midi mini tool and drang) and exotic weapons (Midi multi tool, sturm, rats king) which usually drop 5-10 above your max light level. So if you can get to 271 then you'll get a bunch of blues and purples at 266 and you can slowly bring up the rest of your gear which will then raise you to 272 and cause blues/purples to drop at 267 and so on and so on and so on.
Also if you are attached to legendary armor or weapons, don't forget to use legendary mods to raise your gear's level by 5.

So I'm just grinding for drops right now. Haven't picked up any rewards or turned in any planet rep stuff thinking to hold all that until I hit 265 then use that to bump up higher. Is that right or will those engrams be coming out at lower than my level? Is it worth it to hold that all or should I just use it now to jump up to 265 quicker.

Planet rep and factions will drop 6 below your light once you hit 265 so you can't level easily that way. Anything called a powerful or luminous engram will level you up pretty good. Exotics are the only engrams from the wild that drop higher than your light.
After you hit 265, get one or two powerful engrams and then grind blues and legendaries until you feel you've hit a wall again and then turn in more.

I would probably start turning in the planet rep stuff now. That is soft capped at 265 and won't go past until your level is around 270.
Hold off on turning in your exotic gun quests or Milestone awards until you get around 265 or it's the end of the week.

Ran trials with an LFG group, almost went flawless, but lost our last match. Some notes:
- 4v4
- Level advantages are disabled
- New screen at the beginning that shows each persons gear
- Need 7 wins for flawless
- There's a built in boon for one loss allowed
- You don't have to buy a card anymore it's automatic
- There's a new social space for trials, win one game and your have access to it
- Every game you complete awards regular crucible gear and tokens
- Tokens can be redeemed at the trials faction for trials weapons and gear
- There's extra rewards for 3 wins, 5 wins, 7 wins and flawless

So spoiler for the opening of the raid, don't read if you don't want to.
I flew in by myself. The cabal when you land will not attack you unless you shoot first. I litterally only did the opening but got all the way tot he door and it told me to go to the bath house. Definitely more fun if you shoot, but lore wise I found it interesting.
