Here are our options.Sax, I'm admin of the Texas Aggies PSN but it does sound like the Texas Aggies name may become available on Sept. 20th.
Here's the main part:
Option A: Upgrade to a Destiny 2 Clan
This option is recommended for smaller communities (3 - 100) where the majority of Group members are also Clan members. If this is the currently selected option on August 23, 2017, the following will go into effect:
- The associated Group will be deleted
- The forum history and chat history of the Group will be transferred to the Destiny 2 Clan
Option B: Remain a Group
This option is recommended for large communities (100+) where most of the Group members are not also Clan members. If this is the currently selected option on August 23, 2017, the following will go into effect:
- The Clan is deleted
- The Clan Roster is removed
- The Clan name is reserved to the user that was set as the Clan Founder
- The forum and chat history will remain a part of the Group and will not be transferred with the Clan name reservation
Default Settings
To help prevent issues that may be caused by absent Group Founders, every Group with an associated Clan will default to one of the two available options based on Clan membership.
- Groups with 50% or more of their members in the associated Clan will default to the "Upgrade to a Destiny 2 Clan" option which removes the Group and prepares the Clan for the new Destiny 2 Clan features
- Groups with less than 50% of the members in the associated Clan will default to the "Remain a Group" option which preserves the Group, removes the Clan, and reserves the Clan name to the Clan Founder

Every Group with an associated Clan will default to one of the two options based on Clan Membership. As such, if a Group Founder is absent or has not chosen an option by August 23, 2017, an option will be chosen for the group based on the following criteria:
- Groups with 50% or more of their members in the associated Clan will default to the "Upgrade to a Destiny 2 Clan" option which removes the Group and prepares the Clan for the new Destiny 2 Clan features
- Groups with less than 50% of the members in the associated Clan will default to the "Remain a Group" option which preserves the Group, removes the Clan, and reserves the Clan name to the Clan Founder
Funnily enough the Texas Aggies Clan has 114 active members out of 229 total which is.....
49.7%.
If that stays the same by August 23rd, the Clan will become a Group (no in game bonuses) until September 20th (about 2-3 weeks after launch) at which point someone can pick it up and create a new clan under that name.
edit: after re-reading this... It sounds like the Texas Aggies clan will be forced to become a group since it's over 100 members. Since the founder (Kamphers) is no longer active, he'll lose the right to the Texas Aggies clan name on Sept. 20th at which point someone else can recreate the Texas Aggies clan and we can all transfer over to it. This means we'll lose the in game clan progress but will finally get Texas Aggies back. Also don't forget that the max amount of people you can have is 100 which would then likely be shared with xbox users (and probably PC players) as well.So vote time:Do we make the switch on Sept. 20th from Texas Aggies PSN to Texas Aggies?
