Sorry, another question: How is graphic detail and response based on your current rig setup?

(i.e. are you setting graphics on highest level and experiencing lag or pixelization, and if so, what kind of CPU, Memory, and graphics card do you have?)

What do the numbers after your name mean? I am sure this information is out there so I apologize if this has already been commented on.

The numbers after the name are a part of your battle tag. Just something else to make sure your name is unique I guess.

Played for about an hour this morning before work. Graphics are set to High with the exception of shadow detail (medium) on my 2.2 quad Macbook Pro with the high res screen.

I only noticed the framerate drop when I'm fighting off 10-15 zombie guys at once, and then it barely drops. Game plays very well. Witch doctor isn't my class though, so I'll be rolling a new one tonight. How is the Monk?

Got up early this morning and played a bit. Almost up through where the beta ended, barb more fun now with runes. Last time I played him was before they put runes in.

couldn't even download the game overnight. Downloader reported 4% complete. Not sure what the problem could be. bittorrents in general I never had to configure my router. Should have just bought the physical media. Argh...

Somehow managed to schedule a trip to NOLA without realizing what day the game came out.

Yeah personally, I am leaning towards barbarian since I rolled him in Diablo 2, but the monk class also seems interesting.

Barbarion is my class of choice too - tried all the others in Diablo II, but kept coming back to Barb and that was the only one I took all the way through and played in multi-player.

Actually worked pretty good in D-II, since a buddy of mine loved the necromancer, so we made a pretty good team with those two. I could bust through enclosed areas and keep the hordes off of him, while he sniped from a distance and raised support armies from the creatures I killed.

I've played the DH up a little past the skeleton king. It's pretty awesome. I'm hoping to try out the WD when I play with some of my friends.

I'm not really interested in the Barb or wizard because I feel like I've played those archetypes many times throughout various games.

Also, the shield issue is apparently only for DH's who give the templar something that they have equipped. Still though, I'm not going to even bother giving my templar a shield until this is fixed.

Im assuming D3 can be played single player offline like D2? Thumbs down for crappy Wildblue internet too slow to do anything but browse the web.

I'm having a hard time deciding on which class to play.

I've been playing for a while on my wizard but the servers are down now for a couple of hours...fail.

I was actually planning on working today but woke up with a 100 degree fever and feeling like total garbage, so i took a sick day. i havent taken a sick day in over 2 years, so im pretty sure everyone at the office thinks i am faking.

Right now i am about level 15. Its been fun so far, but wizard does not really seem to be that great. Damage is ok, but I am so squishy. I have died a couple of times so far just due to me getting stuck next to the wrong mobs. There are a lot of mobs that will kill me in one or two shots, so if i stop paying attention for a minute, i die. A lot of people have said they made it through the whole game without dying, and i could believe it. Honestly it hasnt been hard at all so far and the only times I died were because I was daydreaming.

Pretty sure I read that normal isn't supposed to be hard...

Thats probably true, but i thought it would be a little more challenging than running into the middle of every single group i find and AOEing it down without thinking at all what i was doing. Like I said, it got me killed a couple times, but it is ridiculously easy so far.

if only the servers would come back up...

How are the servers down? I have been playing since last night and am still logged on

Servers are down for maintenance until 3:30 CST, but if you're still logged in I think you're ok, you just can't log back in if you get kicked. Good thing they had a Beta...

my brother is still playing. i logged off to run an errand, now i cant be on. He is 23 now and i am still 12. damnit.

OOPS. maybe not 3:30

Now they're saying 530CT.

They started the maintenance expecting to be online at 130 CT. Ouch. Now they'll run into the masses coming home from work to play in addition to the workload they couldn't handle last night.

The nerd rage on the official forums is kind of funny. I've been annoyed about the servers coming up and down, but I know that this will be fixed today and I'll be good to go for a while.

no kidding Ross. Funny how the internet demands compensation when we all knew this was going to happen. It just plain doesn't make financial sense for Blizzard to invest in the server capacity to handle everyone on day 1. They'd end up with a ton of extra hardware on day 20 when the user base drops off.

Ok guys (and gals if any of you were posting on here) - I am heading out of work a few minutes early and heading to Best Buy to pick up my copy.

I figure an hour from Westlake to McKinney, then 20 minutes from BB to home.

Hopefully, in 2 hours there will be a new Barbarian in the game! (Maybe the East Coast people that got off work at 5, and the Central Timezone workers will ahve given up for the night and the servers can come back up)
