I will have to decide whether I'm rushing through with more people for experience or going by myself to learn the story. I am pretty sure this will have a very good storyline, so I just don't know what I want to do yet. Half of the fun with diablo is playing with others.

What does your internet speed test usually give you?

500 kbps is just about the max in optimum conditions (middle of the night during a holiday); I think it may actually cap at 500. When everyone is home at night or on the weekend, it slows to a crawl.

Putting it another way, even with a long buffer and crummy quality, I can't stream Netflix. No way will I be able to play this masterpiece.

Well I think streaming netflix actually requires more than gaming. 500 kb/s shouldn't actually be that terrible, but I guess if you have to share it with a bunch of people it might be lol.

was a big D2 fan, haven't played D3 but seeing as how finals are done, graduation will be over with soon, and job is secured and not starting til july, i will probably cave and buy this

I do know that this game is estimated to sell at least 4 million by the end of the year, so their should be plenty of Aggies to play with if everyone gets signed up and connected on Aggie gaming.


And Bbq, you need to have your head checked if you played D2 and aren't jizzin for this game .

I'm very tempted to get this, played D2 ALOT in college.

Checked out my old desktop, processor should work P4 (3.3Mhz) with 1GB RAM. Video card needs replaced, it's actually on the 'not supported' list .

Was looking for some mid-range video cards that would allow me to play. Anyone have a recommendation? Saw some for around $75 and up to $100, would love to get for less if possible.

As for video cards, I'm severely out of the loop with video cards and so forth, but i would imagine it shouldnt take a lot to play the game.

I updated my skill specs on a few characters significantly. I didn't realize any skill could go in any slot so I messed up on a few things. I also added some better survivability with crowd control and so forth. I like my DH, WD, and Wizard builds the best for now, but things will change in time I'm sure. I definitely want to try out a Cold wiz, and hell I might even like the WD with the build I have. It might be severely mana intensive though.

AtlAg - I played the open beta on my old Dell E510 - P4 3.0Ghz, 3GB RAM. It ran ok with all of the settings turned down. It has some $30 HTPC video card I bought a couple years back from Newegg. (I wanted to get something without a fan to keep it quiet)

You might want to upgrade you RAM though.

RAM is one of the cheapest things you can buy that will work wonders to your comp.

That's assuming you have access to your RAM... better double check that before you buy anything.

Question: I have downloaded the game but the setup stalls for me when it says "Updating Setup Files...". Is this just because the game hasn't launched yet?

I bet the reported incidents of carpal tunnel syndrome skyrocket over the next few weeks.

ross, google that. i had the same problem and had to delete the blizzard users folder or something like that. It was a total pain in the ass, so i would start working on it so you can download the whole thing by tuesday

I finally got this fixed. Here's what I did:

- Move the downloaded folder(s) to your Program Files (x86 in my case) folder.

- Delete the Battle.net folder. You can find this by going to Windows Explorer, double-clicking in the "URL" line, then typing C:\ProgramData (otherwise, this folder is hidden). Find "Battle.net" and delete the file.

- ctrl-alt-delete to start task manager. Go to processes and find "agent.exe". Kill this process.

- Go to control panel -> network and internet -> internet options -> connections. Ensure that "never dial a connection" is selected.

- Launch the D3 installer. For me, it looked like it was going to hang up again, but after about a minute of hanging there, it completed.

Thanks for the Fix Ross, I'm sure there will be others with this problem too. Might even have to copy and paste to the beginning of the thread or on Aggiegaming if this is a common problem.

Because as someone already mentioned, i get a digital copy as well as a hard copy.

So, let's say I have to format my hard drive, I don't have to sit with my thumbs up my ass as I wait for the blizzard downloader to install the game.

When I want to play a new game on steam, I have to wait a whole day while it downloads. If I have a hard copy of the game...I don't.

Hard copies of games are superior to digital.

Makes sense.

For digital games I just make a backup of the game files whenever I reformat or move to a new hard drive. It takes less time to check the install than it does to reinstall and install all subsequent patches.

If anyone wants to randomly run through diablo 2 tonight/this weekend head over to aggie gaming and post on my thread.

I downloaded the digital version and just burned the install data onto a DL dvd for backup.

I don't know how many people use amazon to order their games but... being the highest preordered PC game ever on Amazon is pretty impressive.
