I picked up Leoric's shinbone in his manor. Only "secret recipe" item I've found so far.

lvl 49 Monk about to start Hell once I hit 50. Add Exaltius#1200.

Hell should be fun but Ive heard horror stories about Inferno. Apparently there is no hope for me =(

I only got the recipe on my first run through... also got one of those pages that I guess are from Lost, didn't watch the show.

Monks are extremely strong in inferno. Probably the best equipped to solo content. I'm playing with monk, barb, demon hunter, and I'm a witch doctor. Monk is doing the best.

Monk is boss.

Playing a little slow so I just hit 25 but I'm enjoying the hell out of it so far.

Templar + Transcendence + Exalted Soul + Breath of Heaven makes you a DPS healbot.

Anyone know how to go back and watch cinematic movies? I somehow missed the movie between act 1 and 2

There is a button labeled cinematics on the left side of the log in screen.

I now have:

Black Mushroom
Leoric's Shinbone
Liquid Rainbow
and the gemstone thing

Now i need to save up 100k g for wirt's bell or something and then need to find the recipe!
Hagen95
How long do you want to ignore this user?
I saw the merchant selling Wirt's bell, but didn't have anything near 100k in gold to purchase.

One of the guys I was playing with got the rainbow potion.

I have none of them.

I found what looks like a piece of paper pulled out of a book. Said "Page 8 ..." then I don't remember the rest.

You guys know about this?

I think i picked up the same, I'm not sure what it is, I've upgraded the jeweler twice or so, and it says i need 10 pages plus money? Is this page for that?

Part of a Lost reference, not sure what the end result is. There are pages for 4, 8, 15, 16, 23 and 42. The ship in the game (in the desert) is a reference to a ship in the show (in the middle of a jungle).

Don't forget to post your questions on aggie gaming, it makes it easier for others to find the answers later on when they get to it.

Try to start moving discussions over there!

Anybody else disappointed by the fact that several acts are carbon copies of diablo 2? act 4 doesn't even have a unique town...screams lazy to me. They had 12 years and they didnt spend any time on this?

Because one of the acts is in a desert town it is a a carbon copy? And then you go on to say that because they changed the way an act felt and played...it was lazy? There is obviously no way of pleasing you. If you don't like the type of game Diablo is, then please don't try to point out flaws as you just don't like formula of the game.

I love the way Acts 3 and 4 played out. In fact, it was completely different from the way Diablo 2 was. The formula was so different, the whole I time I was thinking to myself how much I enjoyed how they had changed it.

***Spoiler***

The fight at bastion's Keep was a great way to present an act. Each quest progressed you through the battle...how is this a carbon copy?

Then going into heaven...how is this a carbon copy? You didn't have a base of operations in Heaven because the story required you to get to Diablo as fast as possible, not BS around with a bunch of angels at the local bar. Having a unique town wouldn't make since story wise anyways. I loved how this played out, I felt like I had to blast through mobs as fast as possible throughout the whole thing because Diablo was destroying heaven.

***End Spoiler***

If they had done away with the desert setting and the setting at Bastion's Keep, you would have been complaining that all the Act look the same.

Basically, your argument is stupid. You accuse the developers of rehashing old Acts, then ***** about them doing something different. Make up your mind, dude.

@HeadGames-

I manually activated you and changed your wp to the first 8 characters from your email address, no caps. Change that as soon as you login, please.

Not...even...close:

Act 1 of Diablo 3 basically harkens back to Diablo 1, in which the Act centers completely around Tristram. In Act 1 of Diablo 2, you took a portal to Tristram to rescue Cain, then jumped back.

Act 2 of Diablo 2 starts in a port city on the edge of the desert. Act 2 of Diablo 3 is in the middle of the desert. The only similarity (SPOILER) is that you're chasing someone.

Act 3 of Diablo 3 can only be compared to a combination of Acts 3 and 5 from Diablo 2 (and D2:LOD)

Act 4 of Diablo 3 isn't even close to Act 4 of Diablo 2. In Diablo 2, you were in HELL in Act 4 - with a Pandemonium Garrison as your rest point.

They're similar in that you have to fight your way through a sea of gruesome enemies inhabiting semi-random dungeons, while you use fantastic magical and martial powers.

VERY similar.

Also, you completely missed my point about Act 4.

So we're now at the Gates of Heaven in a new "town", but we don't have any merchants or any of our normal town stuff.

Instead of coding in a town, they simply linked back to the "Keep" town from Act 3 - this makes absolutely 0 sense, and can only be attributed to pure laziness by the developers.

I read a developer interview that stated the reason Act 4 in Diablo 2 was so short was because they ran out of time.

Originally they had planned for Act 4 in D3 to be a full-length usual act, but they realized it worked better from a story and pacing standpoint to keep it shorter and not to draw out the climax (fify protected). This game has been in development longer than most game studios exist, if they had wanted to add a fourth town they would have.

As I played through the game, I didn't really see too much similarity overall. A few of the dungeons reminded me of D2. One was very similar to the Arcane Sanctuary, IMO.

Started a Barb character last night. If anyone wants to help level him up for me, feel free to do so.

just got my first character to act 3, **** gets pretty intense. having to rethink my skill setup a bit for my monk, been going a lot more on the offensive but i tend to like being a monk tank. for those who are a bit further along - i'm guessing stock up on all the +dodge passives/mantras?

Only 40k gold away from my staff of herding. Gathered all the mats yesterday and now I just need to pay off the smithy.

A couple of questions about the special "ingredients" and the blacksmith's progression/capabilities:

1. Leoric's Shinbone - where the heck is it in the manor? I have been back to the manor and searched every room 2-3 times and have not seen it. Is this like the black mushroom that someone mentioned they found in Nightmare mode and only shows up then? (I am still palying through in Normal mode right now)

2. In the Auction House (when it was working, lol) I noticed some "pages" and a "tome" of smithing instructions available. How do these help the blacksmith and/or how do you use them in the game once you find or purchase them? (this may be in the game guide, but like most males, I hate to read the manual)

TIA

(* Edit because there is no spell-check on here and my typing sucks *)
