Yeah, they're certainly not prepared for anything like this. What a tough situation for the broadcast team to be respectful of the player and teams yet still cover the event.

As a football fan watching games every week, this is just aweful and heart breaking.

Given the magnitude of this game (home field advantage/only first round bye) the game needs to be played but has too much at stake to play on tonight with what the players just saw
League should make this game a tie and let both teams get ready for next week.
This isn't fair to this lady. They just need to go to pre recorded material.

But what do they do if god forbid he's not OK? They wouldn't be ready to play tomorrow either.
When this happened at the Euros 2 years ago, they went to half and then played the 2nd.

Looking at the demeanor of the players, I do wonder if he's died.
Just doesn't seem like an adequate mechanism for an aortic injury.
You can dissect your vertebral or carotid arteries with a less traumatic mechanism.
I've seen a solid thump to the chest stop an arrhythmia (precordial thump). I'm sure it could cause an arrest.
This is the right call, those guys were not ready to go back out and play.. unless they get a good word on his status I bet they call this game../

Would they load him into the ambulance if he didn't have a pulse? Figured they would continue to work CPR on the field and load him after they get a pulse back?
Go to commercials or something. Or replay something else. This isn't cool to put these folks in this situation.
Happened with Reggie Brown (Aggie) in Detroit in 1997. He was injured on the field, collapsed and stopped breathing. He was intubated on the field and put in an ambulance.
