The ridiculous MNF scheduling is gonna be a big factor now.

I'd rather go to Philly and beat up on Hurts than go to SF
I've heard some say a Saturday game might have been worse for us this week. We had some banged up guys like Biadasz and Hankins that needed the extra days.
So it sucks for next week, but no excuses. Let's play a great game tomorrow night and then keep it going 6 days later!

We're likely looking at Dallas/SF, Philly/NYG, KC/Jax, Buffalo/Cincy.
Dallas/SF seems like a lock for the Sunday afternoon slot, although Buffalo/Cincy is clearly the best matchup.

The reality is soon as we were locked into the 5 seed it was likely we'd have to beat both SF and Philly in the playoffs. The Seahawks, Giants and Vikings just weren't gonna knock either of them out. Honestly the only real shot would have been had Aaron Rodgers made the playoffs, because that dude is always gonna be capable of beating anyone in a one game scenario.
We definitely matchup better with Philly, but I'm not a "just make the NFC Championship game at least" type of fan. The difference between losing in the divisional or the championship round is nonexistent for me. So you might as well see if you can beat them now.

Yea if I had the same mindset as you I wouldn't mind any of the scenarios. I think
- not beating the Bucs would be a disaster
- beating the Bucs and losing to the Niners would be more of the same unfortunately
- beating the Bucs and Niners would show an actual step forward with this regime/players

Dallas wil probably not beat SF.
Dallas will finish their game with Tampa at around midnight Eastern. Get on a plane at 2am and get to their houses around 6AM Tuesday. SF will be on day 3 of recovery and planning.
Dallas leaves sometime on Saturday.

I still don't think it matters a ton. We got a few days of extra rest, and IF WE WIN, they will get a few extra days of rest on the backside. I think the extra days for us matter more just simply trying to win this game.
It matters a ton in the NFL. Especially in playoffs. The players don't stop feeling sore until Friday or Saturday typically. That's why Thursday night games are so bad typically.Tksymm7 said:

A short week in playoffs is a joke. I think San Fran was handed a pass into the the the next round.
Crazy things can happen, but until I'm wrong, I'm staying on this hill.
My goal for tonight is just to enjoy this game and not be concerned about next week or the week after that.

Either the Cowboys or the Bucs are screwed next week. The 49ers have more than a 48 hour head start on rest and game planning. The winner tonight will have a short week even if playing Sunday 3p. And we're not even sure that's how it will shake out. For all we know the winner will be playing Saturday at noon. Monday night playoff games are the worst scheduling idea in the NFL, narrowly beating out the weekly Thursday night scrimmage

The league has already released the Divisional round schedule and DAL/TB will play SF on Sunday 1/22 @ 5:30pm CT.
The schedule is out. It will be the Sunday night game (late PM game, 5:30).

And I hate the Monday night playoff game too. I don't even remember this happening in the past but maybe because Dallas wasn't playing in the game? Regardless, I don't know why they couldn't do 3 games Saturday and 3 games Sunday.

So I saw Jensen was just activated off IR today. Has he been practicing or is he just now cleared to practice? Unsure of the rules here and curious what to expect out their C position.

i wouldn't say it "doesn't matter", but its not nearly as big a deal as some want to make it out to be
