Jags dominating the Jets. It's almost as if we were easily handling and then blew it to a good team on Sunday.

Parsons and Diggs being out could be a big deal tomorrow. The rest, meh...

Not playing Hurts us just a mind game: they lose and it's no big deal cause Hurts is out. Eagles win and they win without their All Pro QB. Really it's just another game Hurts can't get injured in. Eagles win another game and Hurts will sit again.

How cool would it be if they actually lost out while the cowboys won out and took the East?

If we win out and they lose out, we have the same record. What's the tie breaker? W/L inside the division? In that case, we would win. If inside NFC, I think they win (we've lost 3 in the NFC). They might be at 3 also if they lose out.

The Cowboys would win the tiebreaker, but that scenario is not going to play out. Needed the Jags win badly.

To me, the biggest question is what do we want to happen for the rest of the NFC seeding at this point?

Win this game then close shop for the regular season? What do we have to gain?

I don't think you can do that with 2 games left. 3 weeks is a long time for guys to not play. You don't want them getting rusty. Especially Dak. It seems like he doesn't play all that well after time off.

If the rumors of Hurts being out until the playoffs are true that changes things. You can lose to anyone in the NFL if you're playing a backup QB. You have to keep trying to win until the Eagles clinch in that case because losing the last three is a possibility albeit remote. If Hurts can play before the playoffs yeah there's not much reason to risk injury.

Agree. Also makes that Jax game sting even more. McCarthy seems to be a guy who's mentality is to line up and play every week regardless of the circumstances.

Minshew is no slouch. We could easily lose today against that defense.
All I've seen is Hurts is questionable for next week.

and part of me says let's just lose today, can mc carthy, and start over.

better yet, let's win out, have the eagles win 1 and then lose to them in the second round at philly. that third down call last week should be enough to get him fired.

That makes perfect sense. Let's clean house after the first back to back double digit win seasons since 1999.

But looking at the risk/reward, 538 gives Dallas a 2% chance of winning the division.

Is that enough of a chance to risk injury for?

Good win today. Need Dak to not make boneheaded plays at the end of the game like that, but they pulled through. The defense made plays late, but they need to get things figured out before the playoffs.

Since it's now set in stone that Dallas will play the NFC South winner, which one of those teams would you all want to play in the 1st round? I really don't see any one of those teams that the Cowboys don't match up well with. I'd probably pick Carolina because then you avoid playoff Brady and playing a playoff game at the Superdome.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Dallas winning today mean it's not set in stone yet? It would take the Cowboys winning out and Philly losing their last two, but it is still possible. And if Dallas wins the NFC East, they could either be the #1 or the #2 seed depending on how the Vikings finish (or maybe even #3, not sure about the tiebreakers vs. the 49ers).

And for the more likely #5 seed vs. #4 seed NFC South champ scenario, the second round opponent would depend on the other wild card games since they reseed each round, right? So if a #6 or #7 seed wins, that team would face #1 Philly next instead of Dallas?

Not set in stone, but I don't see any way the Eagles lose the next 2. They are damn good.

Correct, the one seed plays the lowest seed that makes it out of the wild card round.

And the team you'd like to play most out of the south is clearly the Panthers. The Bucs have a strong roster and Tom Brady, and the Saints have a pretty good defense. The Panthers aren't really good at anything and would have no chance of keeping pace with Dallas' offense.

The best case scenario, apart from Philly falling apart and us winning the division, is facing the Panthers in the first round and then having another wildcard upset the 49ers. Then you get Minnesota in round 2, avoid the 49ers' defense and don't have to play Philly until the championship game.

You are correct. I was just saying the most likely situation. It's not set in stone but it's pretty close.

I have no issue playing any NFC team in the playoffs this year or next. The NFC elite QBs are gone, it's wide open to get to the SB.

Dallas has weak spots, but they are crazy dangerous to any NFC team. Dallas, SF, Philly... I put equal odds on all 3 right now.

If Mahomes or Allen are the AFC representative in the SB they will be the favorites, but obviously just getting Dallas into the SB would be amazing.
