Just watched the bucs get beat down in the 2nd half by Cincinnati. They look like a bad football team at times. With their bad o-line it seems like Dallas would match up very well against them. Facing Tom Brady in the playoffs would still probably be nerve wracking though. I really hope the bucs or panthers can win that division because it would suck if the Cowboys had to go play a playoff game in the Superdome. The Saints aren't good, but that rowdy crowd would make a tough atmosphere. New Orleans always seems to give Dallas a hard game.
We need the Saints to keep winning games. Philly owns their first round pick and I don't want it to be a top 5 pick.

The Saints have to play the Eagles in Philly on New Years Day so I can't see them winning out. Whoever wins the NFC South will be doing so as "King of the Dips@#ts." If the Cowboys end up facing the Bucs, it could well be Tom Brady's final game. Think about all of the media hype that will come with it.

Good point. I forgot about that.

Use your brains and not your heart. There is no world this interception is on Dak.

Are there people that dumb blaming this play as the reason they lost?

I would say his going deep with a 1v1 and throwing the ball out of bounds on 3rd and 10 a more likely reason they lost.

Something else that was frustrating and inexcusable yesterday. It was obvious to everyone that the line was much better with Tyron out there and yet they still kept rotating Peters in, even in the 4th qtr when the momentum had changed. Guess who gave up the pressure, slowing the pass rusher to hit Dak's arm on that first pick? Peters. Time to shut that rotation **** down. If Tyron says he's 100%, play him 100%.

Prescott's pass in this pic looks fine and an NFL receiver should have caught it, but if you watch the video, the ball kinda knuckles downward causing Brown to make an off balance catch. Even in this pic, you can see the ball is not spiraling.

Again, many reasons for this loss But this throw needs to be better.

Going 3 and out to give the ball back to Jax was a coaching issue.

The loss yesterday might not be the worst thing to happen. Even if they beat the Eagles next week, they would still have needed help in the final 2 weeks. It just never seemed that likely to happen, at least there is clarity now. At this point they should just go vanilla next week versus the Eagles and treat the last 3 weeks as bye/rest weeks for whoever needs it. It's not clear to me that going @Brady / @Hurts is a better bracket than going @Purdy / @Cousins. There are a lot of reasons to believe in this Cowboys team if they are healthy going into the playoffs.

It hit him in both hands. That is not on the QB no matter what.

I said he should have caught it.

Read it again.

But a Pro QB needs to make a better throw.

You're making an excuse for him dropping it. No. It should've been caught if it was a spinning end over end.

The protection had completely broken down, he's scrambling, and he had to make an awkward throw across his body over 2 defenders. Give me a ****ing break on criticizing the spin

Here's my take on the loss.

It was a S*** loss that shouldn't have happened. We owned them and gave them the game anyway. GB was a S*** loss that we gave away in similar fashion.

This team has only been outplayed twice all year. The opener against Tampa and against Philly with our back-up QB. That's 2 legitimate 'they were the better team today' losses out of 14 games.

This team is far from a SB favorite, but we are still a dangerous team. I know we all feel the weight of 25+ years of playoff futility weighing us down, but the reality is nobody is going to look forward to having to play Dallas in a few weeks. Hopefully we are healthy and firing on all cylinders.

The ball is a loose spiral, like 90% of throws made. It leads the receiver down to avoid a big hit, because the completion is all that matters. This is a catch a 16 year old could make

huge concern of mine right now. Injuries are piling up on the wrong side of the ball for playoff dominance.

That was actually a pretty incredible throw. Brown had been making tough catches the last few weeks too, including in this game. Really crappy way to lose.

That being said, I think Moore needs to call a better game. It's 3rd and 4 at the 50. Run the stupid ball twice if you have too. Dak is an excellent passer but that is not the strength of this team IMO. We need to call the game like Rush is the QB.

Good news on the LVE front. Just a pinched nerve, unrelated to his previous neck surgery. Should be back this season.

There's a lot of common straight forward stats that show how good Dak is.

For instance, Dak is the highest rated QB in football since 2016 in the last 5 minutes of one score games.

Some smoke around Hurts being banged up (sprained shoulder). Vegas has the line up to -5 now.

Unfortunately, I don't know that it means much. I don't see the Eagles losing out. The Cowboys will win at home without Hurts, most likely, but I would rather face the full-strength Eagles. People are going to say, "Yeah the Cowboys won, but it was because Hurts didn't play," if not. Just my opinion.

I almost prefer to play them injured. Last thing we need is a pulse check against the #1 team in the NFL after a gut wrenching loss.

Just put some good wins together before the playoffs and let's see what happens.

Just thinking out loud here. I wonder how open the Rams would be trading Ramsey in the off-season? They have no draft picks, are in cap hell and need to rebuild. Would be a perfect fit for us. But then again we'd have to figure out our own salary cap.

Looking at Over the Cap, it looks like our cap space is going to come down to how much the organization believes in Dak and restructuring his deal.

This is why I am very pessimistic about the Cowboys advancing in the playoffs.

Against the better teams in the league, esp in the playoffs, you can't just run, run and expect your QB to bail you out on 3rd down over and over again.

7 Cowboys nominated for the pro bowl.

Micah Parsons
Trevon Diggs
Demarcus Lawrence
Zack Martin
CeeDee Lamb
Kavontae Turpin
Tony Pollard

IMO Bones deserved a spot as well.

That can't be right... a TexAg poster just said the other day we should probably take Turpin off the active roster because he was a liability.

Selfishly, from the Cowboys perspective, it is extremely good that he didn't. No way we could afford him if he added a Pro Bowl appearance to his resume.

Tony Pollard making it doesn't really change anything... his asking price had already gone way up since the start of the season. I also feel it's likely we end up franchise tagging him so his price tag for next year doesn't really change... he most definitely earned his spot in the Pro Bowl!

My thoughts exactly. Quinn has said several times that Wilson is one of the key leaders of this defense.

One interesting thing about the NFC pro bowl RBs... Pollard made it and Dalvin Cook did not. When we were playing MN I almost made the comment that Pollard's running style was similar to Cook and that I felt Pollard was just as good as him too.

But I held back because I didn't want to be called a Cowboys homer and get into an argument with the Debbie Downers... but it appears I wasn't alone in my thinking.

Cook has taken a step back this year, IMO. Not as explosive.
