Nothing wrong with that. Need some help at CB depth.

He's 6'2 200 and a former NCAA championship defensive MVP with Clemson. Also Lamar Jackson's cousin. Great pickup. Low risk - high reward.

Here's a fun fact that helps dig up an old argument several of us had a couple off-seasons ago:

Byron Jones sitting at 4 career INTs... your boy JaRon Bland already has 3 in 13 games!

$16m/year Byron Jones. And currently injured

The Byron Jones discussions were funny to me. So many times Cowboy fans blast Jerry for over-valuing our own players and overpaying to keep them here. And that's fair because sometimes he does (Randy Gregory anyone).

But then we let Byron Jones walk because Jerry, like many of us, didn't think he was worthy of being one of the top paid CBs in football... and then here come the Cowboy fans blasting Jerry for letting this "awesome" player get away.

Hearing rumors from a source close to Jerry that Dallas is announcing a signing tonight. Couldn't tell me who but guessing OBJ?

***edit. Not OBJ. Hearing it's on the defensive side and may not come out till tomorrow.

Turpin is gonna cost this team a playoff game. Gotta get him off PR.

Because he had a bad game? Seems a bit dramatic. He's been pretty damn good till last week.

He didn't have good hands in college. You just can't drop a punt.

Turpin hasn't taken it to the house yet, but he's given us a ton of good field position this season. He's had plenty of nice 10+ yard returns and other times they are angle punting to him which helps reduce the net punt yards.

I think he's been good... but I'll give you the fumbled punt... that was bad... and what was worse was his inability to regain possession of the ball when it was right in front of him and he had plenty of time.

Looks like the Jags are the trendy upset pick this week. Time for the Boys to put last weeks demons behind them and drop another 50 burger on a bad team.

This is a potent offense. Can't risk possession. I'd just go with Diggs or Lamb, and make sure the ball gets caught. I would like to see more of Turpin on the offense. Dak's accuracy in the flat concerns me, but imagine a play with Pollard, Lamb, and Turpin on the field together. You motion one and you throw him a quick swing pass in the flat. Then you have another one lined up in the slot, you fake to the flat, pull linemen to the opposite side and run a screen to the slot. Or you fake the screen, pull the linemen and hit the wheel route with the motion man or the deep route lined up outside the slot. Make them respect the speed and then Elliott, Schultz, and Gallup will pound the middle. The speed guys are all interchangeable.

He can't afford any more mistakes because his roster spot is solely for his PR ability. He hasn't made any impact on the offensive side of the ball as a WR so if he isn't a stellar return man he is gonna get cut.

I guess I'm just confused because... and correct me if I'm wrong... I don't recall him even bobbling another punt. I don't recall him taking a bad fair catch inside the 5 yard line. The fumbled punt was his only mistake all year so I don't understand the concern.

Catching punts is crazy hard. These NFL punters put so much spin and have so much movement on the balls it's a wonder you don't see more muffed punts honestly. Unless I'm just forgetting other close calls, Turpin has been nails.

I'm not understanding the Turpin hate. He's a good returner and putting one of our starting receivers back there increases their risk for injury. Did you guys see the entire team pick him up when he lost that ball? The team knows Turpin is better than that. I don't think it will happen again.

I like Turpin and, like others, am confused at the hate. To me, Turpin is more likely to help win us a playoff game than lose one.

I would bet a large amount of money that they are saving special Turpin plays for the playoffs. No need to show them during the season.

Anyone complaining about ugly wins in the NFL needs to watch that first half of the Colts/Vikings game. Anyone can jump up and blast you at this level if you aren't ready to play.

You are what your record says you are, but Vikings have to be the worst 10-4 team in history.

Yep, and Philly had to score late to beat this Indy team.

It's crazy watching teams at the top level of the sport still just seemingly not pay attention to analytics at all. Colts with a 15pt lead, trying to wilt away a game and with the clock running they snap the punt with 10 seconds on the play clock.

That's two extra plays at the end of the game you are just gifting Minnesota.

If Colts pass the ball again this game they are absolute idiots.

Coaches largely ignore objective analytics. There isn't a single coach in the league that goes for it on 4th down even half as much as the data says they should.

Every time you punt on 4th and 1 from anywhere beyond your own 40 yard line (outside of very specific end of half/game scenarios) you are statistically helping your opponent. You lose net 0.3 points every time you do this from your own 40 and that number goes up the further down the field you are. Punting from the other teams 40 on 4th and 1 is a net loss of 1.7 points. That means you are essentially giving up a safety every time you do it. Coaches should be fired over this stuff.

High risk analytics I at least understand the reasoning -- coaches don't want to give people a reason to fire them for bucking the trends.

But clock-based decisions just baffle me. 10 seconds is two plays. Colts just gifted Minnesota two plays for no reason whatsoever.

Colts intercept it... 15 point lead, 7:30 left... and they pass it two times before punting.

Just running the ball and running the clock in 4 plays they could have burned almost 2 minutes of this game without picking up a single first down.

That's the unofficial record, as technically postseason achievements don't count with respect to overall NFL records. They are only assessed against other postseason achievements. So the Oilers aren't technically guilty of the biggest blown lead ever.

The Mike Sherman school of coaching. Play a good first half and then get the doors blown off in the second.

Dak certainly has his off days but when he's good he's REALLY good. Two awesome plays/throws on that drive.
