Maybe he's doing a physical/ workout on the 5th?
I sorta appreciate what Kellen is doing inside the 5 yard line. Easy for us to say "run the damn ball"... but the fact that we've seen him throwing it just as much as running really keeps the defense honest.
We've had some issues once we get inside the 10 yard line in recent years (kicking fgs instead of getting 6). But baring penalties, we've been really efficient at getting TDs this year.

True! Even with all the penalties inside the red zone yesterday, they still were able to score TDs and not settle for FGs.jr15aggie said:

What reason does he have to wait and delay learning the playbook?
I don't believe OBJ been clear to play yet. No team is going to touch him till that happens. And probably ongoing discussions of what his contract might look like. I don't think there is any harm in waiting.

Well for one he has to be confident he is ready to play and two, he then has to pass the team physical and be cleared by team doctors.

The Cowboys are #1 in PPG, #1 in YPG, #2 in YPP, #4 in QBR, #2 in plays over 10 yards and #3 in plays over 20 yards in games Dak Prescott has started since 2019.
The only offense whose adjusted efficiency is better in that time frame is the Chiefs.

Brown struggles with playing the ball in the air, but he's an above average NFL corner in terms of catch % and yards given up. Even when Jordan Lewis was healthy Brown was still our second best corner when adjusted for # of targets.
Our weakest position on defense is the interior DL. Before we got Hankins, Osa was the only player at the position who was even average by NFL standards. On the flip side our safety position might be the most underrated position group in the entire league. Between Kearse, Wilson and Hooker we have three guys ranked in the top 15 by PFF. Hooker is probably the best deep zone safety we've had in the 21st century.

Cowboys are going to the Superbowl. I hate to jinx them and maybe they are peaking early, but right now, they are the best team in the NFC. Stay injury free and Dallas will play the Chiefs in the Super Bowl.
Still a lot of season to play, but I'll allow myself to indulge in the current hype...
Tyron Smith is coming back. It's no longer an if, it's when. And if he comes back and plays up to his standard, holy cow this oline could be dominant.
I also believe OBJ is Dallas bound. I do not expect him to be a top 5 WR... but I do expect him to be another weapon teams have to account for and a guy that will make big plays for us. Add that to fact that Gallup is playing like his old self, our TEs continue to make plays..... yeah, this team could be really frriggin good.
Our defense carried this team for 5 or 6 weeks. I'm coming around to the idea that we could have an offense that puts enough pressure on teams where they have to play right into the strength of this defense. We could be scary good.

Yes Ferguson looks like the real deal and Hendershot is a nice compliment. Their emergence means Schultz probably goes somewhere else after this season.

Off-season money needs to be spent on Pollard, and getting ready for Diggs and Parsons contracts

Exactly. We have 3 young/cheap/pretty good TEs. The 2 rookies are definitely better than Dalton was his 1st two seasons, so there is reason to be optimistic about their potential.

That is rare. Cowboys RG Zack Martin was flagged for holding for just the sixth time in his NFL career. Future Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee is in Year 9.

Zeke contract becomes "cuttable" next year. Schultz is franchised this year. Pollard is on his 4th year. Terrence Steele I think is up?

He's gonna be elite in the NFL. He's so fast and shifty.
He'll get knocked for his size but he's do damn shifty and just glides along the line. Warrick Dunn had a nice a career and wasn't huge. He'll make money on ST and 3rd down if nothing else.
He put up over 1000 yards with this line and this offense. He's going to explode in the right offensive scheme.
Assuming the Cowboys will be picking late in every round... I have no issues taking him in the 2nd around pick 60.
