Explain, for us Trumpers, how the most conservative candidate is going to be more appealing to moderates then a moderate candidate (Trump or Haley)?
The majority of the country is Pro-Life like DeSantis. The majority of the country isn't fiscally conservative. Those are truths that some of us deal with, and some people whine about to not accept. Don't be someone who rejects truth.


We already saw Trump lose them in 2020. DeSantis won Miami of all places and massively outperformed Trump in Florida in 2022 so he clearly has an appeal to the middle. Youngkin showed the same thing and Sununu and Kemp have shown it for years. Those people hate Trump's unserious clown show antics but are generally supportive of the conservative movement.

This will be clear when Trump loses (again) in November.

Buddy, it's a guarantee that whatever federal education agency he creates will be run by liberals in a decade, which means this will give them a beach head into state education agencies, which is one of the last real bastions of states' rights. In this case, I'd imagine that thanks to Trump having the possibility of being ineligible to hold office due to one of the many court hearings he has, with a suspended campaign, DeSantis could come out from it if Trump does wind up not being able to be president because of said court issues he's dealing with.

At least that's how I've been told suspended campaigns can go.

I'm still a big DeSantis fan, but if Trump is the nominee, I will vote for him. If somehow Trump drops out from legal issues, and the nominee is Haley, I will write in DeSantis.

Except the Democrats primary system doesn't even matter.

The party elites decide the candidate like they did with Biden. 2008 was really the only exception to that because they wanted Hillary, but Obama had his (censored) following and in the end, they couldn't screw him out of it and risk losing the black vote.
