Most people with either law or law enforcement background are more skeptical of the prosecution because they are more mindful of the burden of proof and thus of the holes in the state's cases.

Being a law and order kind of gal that's why I was so surprised when the case started falling apart almost immediately. The evidence wasn't there.

That jury questionnaire tries to inject race and discrimination in the case where there is no other allegations within the charging instruments themselves. Not only are many of the questions poorly drafted, I fear they are giving the jurors a false impression of what will be presented at trial. They are expecting to see some evidence of Chauvin's racial animus, for instance. Nothing I have read or heard backs up such a claim.

Nelson is making a motion for what I don't know but he's upset that Cahill is forcing him to use peremptory challenges for anyone having knowledge of the settlement and he should have more latitude in being able to question them.

Also Nelson clears up that there will be only two alternates.

Nelson is asking for his strike back.

Nelson is struggling with this guy, Cahill intervenes for the first time that I remember.

Says he would try as hard as he can but whenever he hears anything about this case that image is seared in his mind. Cahill still doesn't dismiss for cause.

Cahill asks #71 to step outside so the attorneys can talk. State asked for the sidebar but apparently the headsets are not all working. The audio is cut so can't hear what is the issue.

Other time in Ft Worth. Made it to voir dire. Defense attorney started his questioning of me with "So, Mr. Aggie Engineer..." I was going home shortly after that...

He keeps delegating to the attorneys and the judge if they decide he's a fit juror he will try.

Such BS. He's been asked the same question over and over and still says he will try.

Frankly I think it's a fair answer. They are asking him to speculate. Judge needs to just dismiss him for cause.

Self-employed so financial strain on my family. Has a business partner and assistant to help but it still would be difficult.

Cahill will let the examination to continue and will circle back later.

His concerns are mostly of the financial aspects. It's a busy time of year and he's in real estate.
