Floyd was declared dead on May 25 after Derek Chauvin, a former officer who is white, pressed his knee against his neck for about nine minutes. Floyd's death sparked sometimes violent protests in Minneapolis and beyond and led to a national reckoning on racial justice.
"I hope that today will center the voices of the family and anything that they would like to share," Council President Lisa Bender said. "But I do want to, on behalf of the entire City Council, offer my deepest condolences to the family of George Floyd, his friends and all of our community who are mourning his loss."
But for now, I will say it is a very dumb move by the city to do this before his trial has even started.
They got that money from congress yesterday as part of the COVID relief bill. It's free money for them to give away at this point.

And she's not sure about Floyd's past as a criminal. Drugs in his system and passing a fake 20 bill, he worked as a bouncer at a night club.

I googled: The racial makeup of the county was 80.53% White, 8.95% Black or African American, 1.00% Native American, 4.80% Asian, 0.05% Pacific Islander, 2.06% from other races, and 2.60% from two or more races. 4.07% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

You might be right. I will be suprised if he isnt found guilty of murder 2 or 3, but i would be shocked if he is not guilty of at least the manslaughter.

BTW, after this juror there is only one remaining on the schedule for today. The judge has already let the jurors coming behind go to come back Monday.
Why would the prosecutor even want anyone that he had to "force" onto the jury? Unless he's trying to get them to backpedal a little bit & force the defense to use a strike. Sheesh. I like this grinning fool less every day.

He watches the local news Fox affiliate! That along with military may get the state to strike him.
He has a negative view of the press in general and doesn't regularly watch the news unless it's on in the background during dinner prep.
