What are we talking about here? Are we talking about cutting this kid's dick off?
no. registering him at school as a girl, identifying as a girl, dressing as one. Dad must also do these things. The possibility of hormone suppressants at the onset of puberty, still some years away.

I'm not sure they do the gender reassignment on minor children, and that is not what is being done here.

I don't know where i fall on this. As long as they aren't cutting his weiner off, it's all make believe anyway. Regardless what he dresses like or what he is registered as, it's still a male.

If hormone suppressants are administered, there's nothing make believe about it. He'll live with the effects for the rest of his life.

I'd love to tell y'all that you shouldn't rush to judgment and that you may not be getting the full story here, but who am I kidding. This is the TexAgs Politics board and y'all are going to shout "fake news" at anything that doesn't support your outrage.

There's more to the story than is being reported.
I have an idea.

Let's enact a law where the sons of all convicted murderers are castrated at age 8.

Bad idea?

Of course there is more to the story. The dad is likely a complete waste of human space. We all see that. That doesn't change the fact that altering the physical development of an 8 year old is not right, and it is a fathers place to stand up and raise holy hell when something like this is threatened towards your kid, I don't care how much of a scumbag your are.

I'm trying to tell you that at this point no one is altering the development of the child. No hormones or puberty blockers are going to be given at this time.
"Georgulas registered James as a girl with the local elementary school when she enrolled him in kindergarten."

""His 'coming out' party was his fifth birthday party. It was the first time he ever showed up in a dress. Everyone who was in pre-K with him knew him as a boy.""

According to court documents, Georgulas has also requested the court:

"Limit the Father's consecutive overnight possession of both children and/or supervising Father's possession if he fails to affirm Luna [sic]. Enjoining Non-Affirming Behavior. Enjoining Father from engaging in non affirming behavior and/or taking Luna outside the home as James, or allowing others to do so."

I don't know what to tell you, but if this isn't trying to "alter the development of this child", I don't know what is.
This. And taking away his ability to make an educated choice. She and her lawyer will surely say that he had the right and ability to choose to be a boy the whole time, but chose to be a girl. Well, no sheet.

That's like giving a kid pizza and french fries at every meal and being shocked that he didn't ask for broccoli.
Or listening to nothing but country music in the house and car and then asking the kid if he wants to hear some cyberpunk death metal.

Or only taking your kid to Kyle Field, watching Ags on TV, giving him A&M gear to wear and ....wait, that's different and perfectly okay.

Mom already said she wants to start giving him hormones to start the process. Yeah that is child abuse. Heck men don't possess the cognitive dissonance to make smart long term decisions until we are around 25. And now the stats say the boy has a 50% chance of trying to kill himself in his teens, good job mom

In an article they said he liked Frozen and liked to dress up like Elsa. I think most young kids did this or another character growing up and none of us parents thought anything of it, kids like to pretend.

It's crazy times we live in.

A ten year old could kill a classmate and get minimal jail time because "his brain isn't fully developed and may not know the difference between right and wrong".

But then we are also saying he's old enough to cut his own dick off so he can wear pretty dresses.

It would seem that one viable option in this situation would be to pull the kid from the environment in which he currently lives for a considerable amount of time. Take this time to observe his actions and general attitude to determine to what extent the claims of the mother are accurate. I'm guessing her influence on this child has played a huge part in steering him towards the direction of believing he wants to be a female.

While pulling kids away from their family can be highly dramatic for them the alternative, in this case, seems to be much more damaging. He is 7 years old. Who among us trusts a 7-year-old to decide anything about their well-being and the manner in which they operate? Hell, most reasonable people would not trust a child of that age to choose what clothes they are wearing to school. Yet, we are asked to believe he has the emotional stability and cognitive ability to grasp what it means to transition?

I caught some heat for it last night but I told y'all this father deserved some of the blame here. A dad should be his seven year old son's hero. It doesn't sound like this dad is hero material. The mom is absolutely a POS but no way this happens to an involved, good dad. Still, a parent should not be able to alter a child's body like this. A parent should not be able to tattoo their child much less turn them into the opposite sex. I bet the mom has a problem with circumcision. It goes back to parents need to teach kids that God made them perfect just the way they are. That they are loved just the way they are. They don't need to change anything because they are already perfect. I still think dads need to teach their boys how to be boys and they need to spend a ton of time with them.
You caught heat because your post was garbage.

The dad is not his hero because the mom has been planting ideas about being a girl and dad being an abuser since the kid was 3 years old.

he has tried to be involved, but court orders are preventing him from "being a good dad"

dads should teach boys to be boys. the mom and courts aren't letting this dad do that.
OK, so I have a question for you, as I know you are a lawyer.

The decision by the jury appears to have been simply on custody of the child, not as to the specifics of the "gender transition" stuff.

In other words, the jury did not make a decision directly as to whether or not the child should continue on the path to "transitioning" but rather on who should have sole custody. The issues regarding all the gender stuff are to be decided by the judge on Thursday.

If (and admittedly this is a big if) the father is a real piece of work himself as has been alleged by at least one poster on this thread, is it not possible that the jury simply ruled that of two bad options, mom was just the least bad? Having a decent amount of experience with family court, I can completely see the mother getting custody based on the father's previous or current bad actions, particularly if the jury was instructed to ignore the gender/medical stuff, and only at who is a better parent since they did not have that part of the case before them.

I suspect that dad's lawyer decided to get a jury trial because he thought a jury in Texas would be sympathetic to someone trying to prevent his son from being "transitioned", and the fact that 11 of the 12 jurors sided with the mom gives me pause. It also makes me think that there is more here to the custody side of this case than the media hype about gender. The dad has to have some serious issues if he lost joint custody to this woman.

I would also hope for a much more "rational" decision from the judge regarding the gender issues.

Ya think? She wants to give her seven-year old drugs to start converting him, that will affect his growth and eventual puberty in irreversible ways, it's sick. She's sick. This woman shouldn't ever have custody of a child.

I agree he should be separated. This boy he literally has no clue what he's gotten into with this woman. He's probably just playing pretend. Hell he wanted to name himself after a cartoon character and the mother said no he couldn't be in charge of picking his own name but she can force him to start chemically becoming a girl? It's ridiculous. Sad and it's even more disgusting to see that a judge supports this. I hope that judges life becomes a living hell and she is forced to step down. She has no business deciding things like this.

Not really, they usually favor the mom and if she's had liberal female judges like this wack-a-doo all along, they probably saw him as hyper masculine and couldn't deal with it instead of the abuse it is.

I take it you've never been in family court.

The mother can be scum of the Earth, and will likely still get custody of the children.

Former coworker of mine lost custody of his children to his ex-wife for no other reason than he is a man. He never abused them, had a good, steady job, was a good father, etc. His wife even admitted all of these things when questioned, but none of it matter, nor did it matter the reason for the divorce is she was ****ing multiple guys and the one she was shacking up with at the time had a criminal record. The judge still gave full custody to the mother with no visitation because that is what she wanted.

And the judge was a woman. Took him 2 years to even get visitation rights and another 3 to get full custody away from her after getting a hearing in district court due to drug and criminal activity of the ex's boyfriend.

The mother didn't care about the kids, she just wanted to spite her ex.

You take it incorrectly.

I have spent an enormous amount of time and money in family court.

And based on that experience I find it very hard to believe that a judge (particularly in the state of Texas) would outright deny a parent any visitation with his kids, particularly with young kids. Even horrible parents get supervised visitation, and the courts are very very hesitant to deny a parent visitation.

Interestingly, Dunlop revealed that Georgulas told him that "Luna" was not the first female name that James picked out. The first was "Starfire", a female character from the superhero cartoon Teen Titans Go! Georgulas, however, encouraged him to pick a different name.
So, it's OK to let a kid choose his gender, but letting him pick his name is just too weird.

Nothing wrong with fantasizing about being a cartoon superhero, but it's not something to make a permanent life-altering decision over.
