That would be interesting, except the thing is supposed to be an Inhuman that has been trapped there forever, and Will is an actual person that Fitz found out all about.

Could IT have "absorbed' Will or possessed him?

There's a lot of ways this story can pan out and I'm really excited to see it tomorrow.

I'm betting Will is dead and the evil impersonates him in a bid to get off planet with Fitz.

I just hope Ward and Coulson survive the episode. Ward's villainous presence is irreplaceable, though I worry they'll kill him and make the electric inhuman the next "villain who betrayed the team."

My thoughts exactly. This "Being" has been cooped up for God-knows-how-long...perhaps it saw Fitz as an opportunity to escape, so it created the scenario that was presented.

that was a theory on the SHIELD subreddit. I'm beginning to wonder if there are writers from LOST on the SHIELD crew.

• IT - Smoke Monster/Evil incarnate
• Jemma - Kate (love triangle)
• Fitz - Jack (We have to go back!), you could also argue Charlie
• Coulson - Could Also be jack, ended last episode after falling (jumping) out of a plane, laying on his back staring up
• HYDRA - Dharma Initiative
• Ward - Benjamin Linus (I still expect Ward to go out in an heroic act, Linus eventually turned good)
• Malick - Charles Widmore

yeah, that is what I figures makes the most sense.

The others slow it down, then Lash finishes him.

To add to the Lost comparisons, Mack is on Sawyer's level of nicknames. (Tremors, Power Rangers, and he called Fitz "Turbo" early in season 2)

someone earlier posted a link talking about how the inhumans from AoS will mix with the MCU. that reminded me of an article I'd seen earlier this fall where it was rumored that marvel would be dropping one of the upcoming movies. I think most people speculated that if that were the case, the inhumans movie made the most sense to drop.

and now, I'm not sure that doesn't make the most sense to just let the inhumans be an AoS thing for as long as they can keep it compelling.

Seems to me that if the hidden Inhuman monarchy learns about an ancient Inhuman threat on Earth, they'd get involved.

Yeah, I think its pretty easy to separate the two. Black Bolt and the core Inhuman society are up chilling on the moon. Even last season when they discovered the Inhuman refuge Daisy's mom mentioned a larger governing body she would have to answer to. The AoS Inhumans are just a rogue offshoot the larger civilization.

Alternate theory- maybe they can work in some way that the Inhumans did something to Andrew to create Lash and purge the earth of these Inhumans.

Did you not see the scene with Malick and Ward after that? You can clearly see the thing crawling around under Zombie Ward's skin.
