I asked this earlier in the thread, and someone said Miller said it is meant to be seen in 2D, so that's what I'm doing.

John Wick was good? I just saw Keanu Reeves and thought, "well that looks craptastic."

There's no reason to see this in 3D. HOWEVER, see this on the biggest screen you can. If that means seeing in 3D, then do it. I kinda feel cheated by my viewing; my showing was on one of the middle-size theaters and we had to sit on the back row (the showing was almost sold out) and I don't feel as if I got he best viewing experience this movie deserved.

Seriously considering seeing it again but on the IMAX (which is a 3D showing).

One of the most surprising movies in recent memory. Reeves is fantastic and I can't say enough about how talented the two directors are at staging action set pieces.

John Wick was a badass action film.

I checked it out when another poster let us all know it was up for a 99 cent rental on Amazon/iTunes and was extremely disappointed I didn't see it in theaters afterward.

yeah I really liked John Wick as well. It didn't try to be anything more than what it was. And sometimes that's about as good of a compliment as you can pay to certain types of films.

Saw it last night. Very cool. Agree that 3d isnt necessary, but biggest screen showing would be better.

I've seen nothing but glowing reviews. I'm starting to let my expectations get out of control.

After seeing the latest preview, the movie looks beyond ridiculous. I'll still see it but...

In a post apocalyptic world where resources are scarce, there seems to be a tremendous amount of wasted fuel etc...flamethrower guitar and a bunch of drummers riding around?

seems like he said, "well that sounds cool, throw it in!"

Oh totally. My brother thought the same thing about wasted gas when he saw the originals. For this one, I'll totally turn off my "Does this world make sense?" Switch and view it as art instead. Really, really violent art.

The tragedy of the commons is an economic theory which states that individuals acting independently and rationally according to each's self-interest behave contrary to the best interests of the whole group by depleting some common resource.

Hah. Touch.

Edit: What the heck. Texags won't let me post touch-e (minus the hyphen) on my cell. Try it. How odd.

Snowdog nailed it on the previous page.

Visuals very cool
Loved being back in that wacky world.

Have been waiting for this movie but my expectations were somewhat low. When the reviews started rolling in, my hope absolutely went through the roof.

It was good, just not the greatest experience every critic has said.

For me the weakest part was Max. What the heck? He's freaking Mad Max. I was totally on board with Hardy but, for me, he was a huge let down. Just didn't seem to be set apart from anyone else. I know he is not a super hero (which is why I love the character).
He just didn't have "it"...when I walked out of the theater after seeing Road Warrior, Mel Gibson had made such an impression on my 13 year old self I would have seen any movie he made....and I did. I remember talking nonstop in the car with my dad about him, saying he was the next Clint Eastwood (my highest possible compliment at the time).

Again, the visuals were stunning. Stunning. It's just quite difficult to have a GREAT Mad Max movie if Max isn't great - don't get me wrong - he wasn't Sofia Coppola bad - just a bit off.

Definitely worth seeing....3D....nah
As has been said, though....get the biggest screen you can

Great reactions. Tempered my expectations a bit, in a good way, but still super excited. Seeing it tonight.

I am really surprised Hardy took the role. He was in a no win situation when it comes to this part. We look at it and think "Mel Gibson is Max".

Before accepting the role, Hardy met with Gibson to get his blessing.

So Gibson said it was kosher?

The movie should be called something like "Furiosa Returns" or Furiosa's Revenge". This is her story, not Max's. I think the problem with Tom Hardy's Max may not be him, it could be in the writing, directing and editing. Furiosa is obviously the main character and the inspiration for this movie, and Max seems to be an afterthought.

As in, "I have another cool story idea for the wasteland, how can I include Max"

Its still an incredible movie, but the Tom Hardy character could be named anything.
