If anything, his parents get reward for worst parents of the year. First your kid kills his fiance, they probably learned about what happened when he got home. So instead of making your kid face his punishment, you assist him in "hiding", but they probably knew he was gonna off himself and they still let him do it.

His parents should be made to sit in a room with her parents and describe the process where they decided covering for their murderer son was more important, from a moral standpoint, than trying to achieve some modicum of justice for the family who spent a month of anguish trying to find their daughter, then being told she had been strangled to death.

That was a little past assumption they did it. I mean, its no skin off my back, but we have zero evidence the parents did anything wrong besides internet speculation gone wild. 2 lives are gone, do we need to ruin any others with our pitchforks and torches? If they did commit crimes, I hope they are prosecuted and justice is meted out.

While i agree that these are assumptions....i think the betting person would put more than a 50/50 odds of the guy coming home after murdering his GF, crying saying he made a mistake and his parents went into protective mode to try and help out.

if Brian went home and acted 100% normal he would have a greater personality issue that many of us could even imagine and would be probably lucky to know he only killed one person....

If they knowingly covered up the murder and knowingly helped him plan to escape the authorities or end his life, there's not likely going to be evidence to prove that. If nothing else, the unimaginable pain of losing a child, knowing that he likely caused the death of an innocent, and that you very likely aided in preventing the details of her death from being known by her family will have to be enough. Closure isn't always recieved, even when it's warranted.

Iirc hadn't he already "skipped town" when she was reported missing, or about that time? Either way, I just can't get on board with fan fictioning their punishment when there is no real evidence of their wrongdoing.

I get not being guilty until proven otherwise....but they definitely interacted after he had murdered her and unless he is an amazing psychopath....greater than 75% chance he told them and they panicked and helped....

hopefully we find out but, at a minimum, even if they did nothing wrong, they are guilty in the court of public opinion and will likely need to explain more if they want to escape that reality (assuming innocent in first place).

Yea I changed my views on the whole internet lynch mob mentality after that Netflix documentary about the person that killed the cats on video. That mob went after people and made specious accusations against others that potentially had real life implications, just because they decided that things they saw meant one thing or another and they absolutely got it all wrong. Everything we know about this situation is what we have seen on the news or Twitter or the like. In reality we are so far out of the loop that we may as well actually know nothing.
