Tarleton State University 1992 we went to an old house east of town that was known for a man named "Snow"(last name). It was said he killed his family and burned them in the fireplace. A group of us went there to screw around the place and the fireplace was still standing. One girl stuck her head in the chimney and started talking loudly. She pulled her head out and one of my friends looked white and started backing away. We looked at the chimney and some sort of green mist was coming out of the bottom of the fireplace. We started running and jumped in our trucks. We were driving off and the green mist had formed into a human shape and just stood there. I did not sleep for days and my roommate at my dorm room stayed at his girlfriends place because he saw how freaked out I was.

When I was 14-15 years old, I woke up in the middle of the night and swear I saw a figure at the end of my bed. I did the whole eye squinting, rubbing, etc. I wasn't scared.... to this day I don't think of it as a ghost but instead a guardian angel. (it's the only justification that doesn't scare the crap out of me.)

The other day I was at work and I always come in 30 mins earlier than everyone else to open the place up. I always leave one door unlocked so that when 8am comes the employees can let themselves in. I do this everytime. Anyway, last week I went through my usual thing and I was on my way to the bathroom when I hear a knock at the door. I go over and the door is locked...I thought to myself well that's odd...I'm sure I left it unlocked but maybe I was just in a hurry and locked ti for some reason. So she comes in and about 5 minutes later there is another knock on the door and it's another employee...and I'm motioning for him to come in and he shakes his head at me...I walk over there and sure enough it is locked again...I asked my other employee, did I lock the door after letting you in?? She said I hadnt, which I know I hadn't because I remember making sure I'd left it unlocked....

The freaky part about this is that I was the only one there who could lock/unlock the door since it is both locked and unlocked with keys and not a deadbolt or anything...I was the only one there with keys and they were clipped to my belt loop.

It honest to God freaked the hell outta me.

I do not tell myself they exist because it freaks me out, but to this day I know what I saw and will stand by that my whole life.

I'm not worried about ghosts. Even if they do exist, anybody with unlimited amounts of free time would surely find somebody more interesting than me to watch.

one of my best friends swears that her house is haunted by her father who died when she was in the seventh grade. He was abusive. Not a good environment for the poor girl.

Can't say I've seen anything, but I worked in an office for a couple years that was right over the old Morgue of the former Langley Air Force Base Hospital. For no apparent reason, and only when I was there alone, either early or late, the paper shredder would spontaneously start. I'd go turn it off and a few minutes later it would crank right up spontaneously again. It never freaked me out, but it was beyond explanation why that never happened when anyone else was there--just when I was alone, and when I shut it down it always started up again, but never when I was watching.

When I was in high school we lived in a house that was shaped like an "L" with a long hallway that had 3 bedrooms along the length of it, on the left side. The right side of the hall was just a wall all the way down the length as on the other side of it was our back patio and backyard. We had 2 tv's in the house, the main one in the den and an old one in the master bedroom at the end of the hallway. One night I was walking to to the master bedroom to watch a program. Since the hallway was long, it was very dark if the light were not on. Sometimes I would turn on the light, other times I would not. This time I did not turn on the light. I got about three quarters of the way down the hall and I saw my mother approaching from the master bedroom. As I reached her, I turned to let her pass since the hallway was just barely wide enough for 2 people. When I turned, I looked into my mother's face to say "hi mom" or something like that but, as I looked at her I realized it was not my mother. I stood there for a moment, leaned in a little to figure out who I was looking at and for a few seconds stared into the face of some woman. She was short, maybe 5'3" and the look on her face was plain and expression-less. After a few seconds, in a rather "w-t-f is going on" way, I took a few steps to the nearest light switch and turned it on. There was no one in the hallway.

Worth, I had a teacher in high school who experienced the same thing. Only when she woke up it was her mother sitting on the bed. She says her mom told her "It's all right". About an hour later she got a call from a sibling telling her that her mother had passed that evening.

Walton and Worth,

My Mom and Aunt both said that before my grandfather passed away that they had a dream that he sat at their bedsides and said everything would be alright. They both lived in different cities.

I have had a dream where I was sitting in my grandparents kitchen after both of them passed way, and they were asking me questions about my life and High School and about my parents. Very freaky.

My room in high school was upstairs and had a small door off of it to the walk-in attic. Every now and then I'd wake up in the middle of the night and the light would be on in the attic. I could see the light coming from around the door. It was one of those pullchain lights, about 10 feet into the attic, so you had to physically walk into the attic to turn it off/on. As I like my room dark (like my men) there was no way I'd ever go to sleep without noticing that light being on. I'd have to get up, open the door, walk into the attic, pull the chain, and then walk back out in pitch black darkness. Sometimes the attic door would close behind me as I turned off the light (the attic was 'drafty').

This happened probably once a month throughout my high school years.

this isnt really a ghost story, but i'll tell it anyways.

my great-grandmother was ninety-eight when she died. she was a strong christian woman her whole life, going to church three times a week for probably seventy years. the last year of her life she spent at my grandparents house, with my grandmother and my cousin taking care of her. she had had several strokes and could not speak at all.

one day my cousin went into her room to check on her and she looked at my cousin and said clearly, despite the fact that she could no longer speak, "He told me well done good and faithful servant."

she died two days later.

well, maybe not the WHOLE town.
but the area around the battlefield of course.
i guess the ghosts don't actually have to stay in that area if they don't want to.
i wonder if they are frequenting the casinos and what they might think about them. hummmm.

There's a 14 year old boy who passed away about a week ago...apparently he had cancer and died only a few months after tehy found it...sad stuff...he went to Klein H.S. I think...anyway, a friend of the family was coming in to get pics for his funeral and she was saying that the day before he died he was heavily medicated on pain meds and chemo and whatever else and he was talking about people who were there with him and they thought he was hallucinating but apparently he started describing old relatives that he'd never met...and when he was with his sister he said that he saw a hallway and he didnt want to go down it alone....he died very shortly after that. I had chill bumps after hearing all of that....

Ever since my paternal Grandparents passed away (Granny in 1996 and Grandaddy in 2003), I periodically have really vivid dreams where they come to visit me and ask all about my life, give me advice, etc. I see Granny a lot more frequently than my Grandaddy though. My maternal Grandfather passed away in June, and my paternal grandparents told me in a dream that he was with them now and was very happy. I don't really think of them as "ghosts", and I don't find it frightening at all, but I do firmly believe that it really is them visiting me when that happens. I always tell them how much I miss them, and sometimes wake up crying, but it makes me really happy to think that they're still with me. I told my parents about it once, and mom got really upset. Dad was more like, "oh how nice for you dear", so I think they both think I'm a little nuts. Oh well

One time in the middle of the night, I woke up and looked down at the end of the bed where my dresser was. Standing there was a figure in blue jeans and a leather jacket without a head. As I picked my head up further to look, the figure suddenly had a head and was staring right back at me. Then I sat up really fast and the figure almost jumped and scared me so bad that I slid backwards and gave myself a good thump on the head when I hit the wall. Thats when I realized that, damn it, it was my jeans, on the dresser, my jacket draped over my backpack on the dresser and the head was my own head in the mirror from me standing up...The next day I moved the dresser so I wouldn't have problems like that after a night of drinking...

But seriously...My house in College Station was haunted. No one ever saw the ghosts...but numerous people heard him and her and signs of activity.

One day, I had some friends coming over, so I hoped in the shower. They were already sitting in my living room when I got out and I had to ask wth they were doing in the house. They told me that someone had told them to come in and they heard the door unlock, so they made themselves at home in the living room (no one was home but me). They just figured it was me and then I ran to the shower.

I've also heard someone say "we're here" when my friends were on the way. So I went to the door and no one was there, but as I was about to close the door, my friends pulled into the driveway.

At least once a week, my brothers dog would start barking near one back window and then go crazy barking and jumping (very playfully, like when you just get home and she is exciting to see you) through the house on the same path while looking up all the way to the other side of the house. After my brother graduated and I had another roommate, her cat would follow the same path the house purring the whole time.

The stereo in the living room also would randomly turn on in the middle of the night to the same radio station about once a month at full blast.

And various other things like that would happen all the time. It was usually more weird than scary, but none of us really like to stay in that house alone at nights. I was really glad to be able to move out after 5 years of living there. I don't have experience any thing like that here in Houston.

I've never seen a ghost, but I've felt it's presence. I used to have a hard-to-describe feeling in my old condo in Bryan. It happened everytime I was in the shower, and I would see images of hay fields and hay bails. I could also smell the hay and what I can only describe as the smell of blood. There would also be a country song I could hear playing. I have always felt like I was basically put in a death scene (I guess where someone died in a hay field). It would freak me out, but I couldn't stop it. I know this sounds weird, but it was unlike anything I've ever felt.
