Does anyone know the latest on Maya Joint joining the Texas program? She's up to #136 on the WTA and is in the final round of qualies.
In the past it would be easy to assume pro, but after Diana Shnaider I've stopped assuming.

no official word yet, however the leading thought is that she won't make it to campus,. the biggest indicator of this is that joffee just signed another over seas recruit, assumed to take her spot

She can claim NIL. She only plays for australia, she was born in michigan and is a is citizen. She's the same case as Carson, who had duel citizenship but played for the non us country.
Ah, interesting! I didn't know that part. But she's getting so close to auto qualifying for grand slams, she would be dumb to go play college tennis. I wonder how Mary would compete against her….
it would be a matchup between the two best players in college. (if she made it to college).and as much as i would love to see those 2 fave off, i agree and think she doesn't take the schnieder route and come to college, even for a year.

Setting my bias aside, it's still clear she should go pro. She didn't just win that match against world #106 - she beat her easily. And at least $100K to give back from this tournament and likely endorsements around the corner.
She's not going to get better playing college for a year - she's ready for the pro tour now.
Got to remember, all she has to do is take online classes. She can continue to play like Carson and NC State girl. I think I am right on that. Then be ready to play in the SEC tournament and NCAA's.
she does have to take classes, that's a necessity. but if she continues to have success. I can see her not playing in the fall( where it's individual championships this year). If she does that and continues to have success then she is even less likely to make it in the spring when the tennis calendar is starting back up

LSU just signed a really good canadian recruit. Candace Brace. she won a 35k this summer. it doesn't make LSU dangerous, but with her, kinaa graham, and kylie collins( who they have listed on the roster) they could move up significantly in SEC standings this year.

Kylie shouldve graduated. Did she redshirt last year?
she didn't play at all. i assume she redshirted, she's listed as a 5th year senior on the online roster
LSU will have a competitive team this year! I could see them being a top20 team if the cards fall right
agreed. Tennessee won't be as dangerous in my opinion. They will have talent, but lost a ton of depth and experience from last year. Auburn is in the same boat. Florida lost experience and depth, but bit as much. With these changes, I can see LSU having a good SEC season, potentially a top-20 ranking like you said.

Mia and Ariana Arseneault win 6-4, 6-3 . Some darn good tennis by both sides.
Lulu wins the 50k doubles title!! 5-7, 6-3, 10-1. The girl that beat her in the second round is playing in the singles final. A very very good summer for Lulu, now time to come home and keep winning.
Caron's match is over but I'm just now starting to watch it:
Mia fell in the finals, in three sets, to another Canadian. Darn it. But the team has done really well all summer!
