Going into the weekend, everyone thought that the new F1 Sprint format would be the big news item of the weekend. Here it is Tuesday, and people are like "Sprint what?"

If you were to run an F1 car at Indianapolis or a Daytona, how much faster would they run than the Indy cars or would there be a difference? I'm very new to auto racing so I wasn't sure how big the difference would be or if there was a difference.

Agreed - a team should be able to restore a car to its previous condition without having it count towards the cap. The team would have to submit receipts, etc. to prove that it didn't improve on the car, however.Vernada said:Gladiator 96 said:Ouch 😳 pic.twitter.com/rVGOshkutw

If they are going to have cost caps, there should be some sort of exception for incidents like this.

It seemed pretty apparent Hamilton was holding back RB on that last qualifying lap. I'm fairly new to F1, but that doesn't seem to be normal gamesmanship from the other qualifying I've watched.
Edit: I could be wrong though. RB didn't seem too pissed about it.

It is actually a very common technique, especially during Q3, to start a Hot Lap with minimal time left before the checkered flag. You have to time your Out Lap in order to cross the starting line before the checkered flag is waved. Pole is very often won on last minute laps, since the competitors can no longer counter the fastest time once the checkered flag is waved and they don't outpace provisional pole on their final lap.kyledr04 said:
Seemed crazy to wait so late to try another lap.
