Listening to the commentator defend the danger of the track is a refreshing take.
Helmet cam was outstanding, yes.ac04 said:
that was fun.
for those of you who missed the alonso helmet cam, practices are available on the ESPN app. helmet cam was one lap with ~37 minutes to go and another with ~5 minutes to go in FP2. it is worth seeking out imo. hoping we get some of that footage in the race, was a bit disappointed we didn't get any today.
So DANG awesome.TulaneAg said:
I'm speechless about Russell in the front row in a Williams... Holy crap. What a call, what a drive. That was awesome!
He knows a thing or two about crashes:.numetalbizkitaggie said:
Martin Brundle was an F1 driver so he understands the danger, no doubt.
He's most likely going to be starting from the pit....so, not P10.NewOldAg said:
Great news. Wish he could have defended his pole, but there are worse things than starting P10.

Sorry, new to the sport. I thought he'd retain his place based off of the times he turned in.

Currently, we are still assessing the damage to his car. The outcome of those checks will determine whether he can start from the grid or will have to begin the race from the pit-lane.
Qualifiers are fun because they are never over until the last car is through. Anything can happen. I had high hopes of a GR pole, but Max pulled it off at the end.Cramp00 said:
First qualifier I've watched. Didn't disappoint!
