We just got a 2022 commit from a dual sport athlete Isaiah Sategna who as a sophomore has indoor personal bests of 24-1.5 in the long jump, a blazing 7.88 time in the 60 Hurdles., and 6.86 in the 60! He has only competed in one outdoor season due to covd but ran a crazy fast 37.67 in the 300 hurdles, 14.61 in the 100 hurdles, and a 21.93, all as a freshman. oh and his dad is also an assistant track coach at Arkansas! could be a great addition to our hurdle and jumps crew!

Henry coached his parents at LSU. Mom, Dahlia, is from Jamaica and was on their 4x1 Olympic relay in 92.

His father is Mario Sategna the former Longhorn track coach who coach at Texas for 15 years. I don't think he would have committed to Texas because of the way his father tenure ended at Texas and Arkansas is struggling at football right now. Great pick up though if he truly decide to do track while at A&M.

I think he may be great in the 100 and 200 as well. Remember that we only have HS freshman times right now. Nothing outdoors last year because of covid

Have not seen any track results for 800 lady Bailey Goggans. What site do most of you'll find high school results. Athletic.net does not have any results for Bryce Fosters throws as well.

Milesplit and Athletic.Net are the go to! Athletic is usually a little slower at getting complete results in, but Milesplit is quick especially with meets in bigger cities! I believe Goggans has only ran indoors unattached this season, but she should kick off her outdoor season soon!

Pat Henry just confirmed on TexAgs Radio that all athletes, coaches, and personnel tested negative today! They will still test again on Friday (God knows why) but this is good news!! Tomorrow begins with the Tyra Gittens in the pentathlon which starts at 11:30 and can be seen on ESPN3 or on the ESPN app!

Very true! I understand Tech normally does this during indoor season, and it's understandable during Covid but hurts them more than helps in my opinion! It gives them less chances of seeing other competition, their athletes won't be used to different environments, and recruits and athletes love to to travel! They have two world class jumpers in Usoro and Nichols, Usoro has had a dominant year but Nichols can be inconsistent! The elevated pits at the Tyson Center might hurt them, but not dramatically! Thankfully Deborah and Tyra have jumped there before!

I don't think either Tech girl will jump 22. I could see 21-9 or 21-10 winning it. TJ may be a different story though.

I totally agree, hopefully Deborah has been able to train, and Tyra had her mishaps on the runway the last meet but she turned things around and jumped a strong 21'8.75, hopefully with more rest between the high jump and long jump at nationals she can improve on that. Usoro is in another world triple jumping her off day can probably win, I just hope Acquah can get a big jump over 45 and place top 3, she struggled with erratic jumps in the triple at the Tyson but she'll be more adjusted now hopefully! The triple is the last field event for women so that event could have huge scoring implications!

The NCAA indoor championships is less than 30 minutes away from kicking off! Tyra Gittens will start the heptathlon at 11:30 with the 60 meter hurdles where she has a best of 8.28! The pentathlon will be a two woman battle as Gittens faces off again with Georgia's Anna Hall! Every second and every inch will make a big difference here so let's hope the good Tyra takes over today! The difference between 10 and 8 points could be huge when determining the national champion! The collegiate record is a combined 4703 and although a monumental task, both athletes at their best are capable of breaking it! For those interested the men's heptathlon kicks off at 11:00 and it will be a good competition with Georgia's Kyle Garland, Karel Tilga, and Texas' Leo Neugebauer! Let's hope Tyra gets our Aggies off to a great start! Will update with her hurdles performance!

Tyra Gittens runs a PR time of 8.27 in the 60 meter hurdles giving her 1068 points. A great and better start to the pentathlon! up next is the high jump at 12:30!! Anna Hall runs 8.43 scoring 1032 points.

Great start from Tyra! Put some space on Anna at the end there. I'm feeling a shot put PR coming too

exactly lol, we want Tyra to have her best day, but as long as it's better than Anna's day I'm a happy person!! now hopefully Hall doesn't PR in the high jump and Tyra can separate even more!!

CRAZY JUMP FOR TYRA! A 6'4 clearance makes her #8 in the world and extends her school record! Cleared it cleanly on the first height, and has yet to miss on any height! TYRA CAME TO COMPETE!

She definitely has the ability for 6'5! 2 more attempts

After a nice PR in the 60 hurdles, Tyra Gittens jumps a huge height of 6'4 to take the lead in the pentathlon by 114 points to Anna Hall who cleared 6'1.5. Up next is the shot put scheduled for 2:30, hopefully she can extend her lead even further with a great throw! NEW SCHOOL RECORD!

Gittens hit the bar with her leg on either her second or third jump and I thought uh oh but just an amazing jump at 6-4. How did Pat Henry find her?

Here are the current standings... Tyra and Hall are both good shot putters but at her best Tyra can out throw her by like 2 or 3 feet and give her 50-75 more points than hall going into the long jump where Tyra is another 2 feet better! Tyra needs as many points as possible before the 800!

After the first attempt I thought she could do it, but she seems okay and pumped up! She was one of the top high school high jumpers and long jumpers out of Tennessee! Great find and thankful she came to College Station! Her work ethic, personality, and character make her a great representation of Texas A&M!

On her first throw Tyra throws a huge season best of 45'5!!! Have a day Ms. Tyra Gittens!

Tyra doesn't improve on her huge first throw but still extends her lead greatly and is now up by 277 points! Tyra's personal best in the long jump is 2 feet over Hall's and if that happens her lead can improve approximately 150+ points! Which will be huge before the 800, where Hall scored 304 more than Tyra at SEC's! So the key to a gold medal and 10 points is to beat Hall by more than 1.5 or 2 feet in the long jump

As soon as white flag goes up on Tyra's first long jump this competition is over. Great effort for Gittens.

Lol and yeah she definitely stuttered on her first attempt fearful of the white block but still managed a 20'7 jump! With that out of the way she can go crazy and surpass 21 easily! Hall had a first jump of 18... her first NCAA's is getting to her and it's showing!

After 1st long jump, Gittens seems to be doing very well. She jumped 20'7+" to Hall's 18' 3/4". Of course, there are 2 jumps left, but it is a great start.

Tyra improves on her 3rd jump to 21-7.25 to separate tremendously from the field!! She is up 544 to Duke's Erin Marsh and 548 to Anna Hall in This event should be locked up barring a disaster in the 800! 10 points fo us, but Arkansas G'auna Edwards is sitting in 4th and that means points for Arkansas depending on the 800

What a day so far for Tyra Gittens. She went 21'7 1/4" on her final jump, for 1033 LJ points and a current total of 4033 points. She is 544 points ahead of Marsh from Duke and 548 ahead of Georgia's Anna Hall.

Only the 800 meters is left. Even though that's not a strong event for Trya, she far enough ahead, I think, so victory is all but certain.

Here's a link to a cool and laid back interview featuring Tyra Gittens, Anna Hall, and Abigail O'Donoghue all in one zoom room discussing the high jump competition, their coaches, their teammates, and what it's like to compete with one another, in the SEC, and on the national stage!

Tyra needs to run 2.31 to score about 675 points and break the college record. She is capable since she ran 2.33 at SECs
GAuna Edwards is sitting 4th but only ran 2.34.88 at SECs, so she can fall down the standings.
Look out for about 1000 points from Anna Hall in the 800 to move into second

She needs approximately a 2:31 800m for the collegiate record. I could be off but just off the top of my head
