You're blind to the reality. If they were here for noble reasons and love of A&M we wouldn't be worried about any of them leaving.

There's a lot of ground between "doesn't give a **** about the school" and "will turn down a 100% pay raise to stay here"

If LSU called and doubled your salary you'd be guzzling corn dogs and calling Baton Rogue in a heartbeat.

So they can get bounced throwing a depleted staff against a rested national seed?

This makes sense to someone?

Which is it? They love A&M or they're hired guns? I see hired guns who don't care about our school like we do.

Back to the topic I don't want to keep Earley.

Mike Earley needs to pack bags

I seriously cannot believe there are diehard Texas A&M baseball fans in here who would like him back after this season being a historical failure. There were enough games in there to get a baseline of his coaching ability in the near future.

This thread is frankly embarrassing.
If we want to actually take athletics seriously and win, he needs to go.

The majority of this thread is anti-Earley.

Lol you're blind then. There are two guys on our team getting paid mercenary money. If you're terrified of Ben Royo hopping in the portal because he's a hired gun who hates A&M I can't help you

Yes. Same outcome but you get 1 to 2 extra wins for the bottom of your conference to look better to the committee.

We would have missed the SEC tournament under last year's tournament format which took the top 12.

The double and single byes are good resume boosting for the bubble teams, so the SEC can possibly have a lower seed win a couple of games instead of instantly getting bounced in the 1st round.
that was the intended goal

Doc, I stand with you. Some of these folks who are posting probably couldn't name 3 kids off the roster from each team Over the last 5 years! Most of them probably brag to their buddies that if Dylan Rock wouldn't have got hurt sliding into home last year, we would have a natty! I say keep Earley!

You know how much they are going to miss Earley next year. Zero

Just going to have to put those hats out to pasture.

No disrespect to you, Derm.

We can either be a program that takes the process to becoming a championship program seriously or a program that does not.

That is what I don't understand with those wanting him back. If he improves and there's no guarantee of that one bc of the starting pitching outlook for next season, he will just get to average next year instead of bad.

I'm thinking we can get a coach with a real coaching search this year that will be a lot better than average.

For all those wanting to keep Earley.

Answer this question for me. Would you throw money in the pot for NIL to get top level players with him coming back next season. My thoughts are the ones that do it will say, I will wait until we have a new coach.

Simply put, we are noticeably worse or have regressed in almost every facet of the game under Earley. That combined with the horrific finish to the season against Missouri, sip and Georgia- he needs to go.
Under what metric or what facet of his coaching prowess you observed this season, leads you to think next year will be ANY better? The experiment did not work.....

I think being a serious program went out the window when we added a buyout to Earley's contract. Such a bonehead move. Trev should've been throwing feelers out since day 1 or at the very least when conference play started. It's not difficult to get a better coach today but that's not the issue. The issue is we need the right coach and if we are just starting that process now then I have doubts we will get the right guy.

Buyouts are standard stuff. If a coach isn't being represented by Master P, he's going to have a contract that looks like a head coach's contract.

And we have no idea what we've been doing behind the scenes. I'm very curious because we've heard next to nothing outside of the tiniest Kendall Rogers tidbits.

I get the "standard coaching contract" but Trev had maximum leverage and $3M isn't exactly chump change for a coach with zero head coaching experience. Not saying this is you, but I don't get the idea that since Trev isn't saying anything about it then it automatically means we are searching for someone else. When has an AD ever come out and said the HC is staying?

We already have NIL lined up. No link.

Is there anyone that thinks we'll have MORE talent next year? IMO, it's safe to assume we'll have less talent, possibly even significantly less talent. Why in the world would we expect to finish better under Earley next season? For those that want him back, in what areas are you expecting improvements?

Oh I'm just saying that we really just don't know what the AD is doing. My gut says he's looking around but yeah a coach is rarely announced to stay, unless they sign a new contract and the school wants to put rumors to bed. So we don't have much evidence either way.

If he becomes a better coach then you'd be buying the idea that you can have a better season by raising the floor, if not necessarily the ceiling. I'm not sure I buy that, but that's the argument I'd make.

I don't expect any news at all because I do think Earley is staying no matter what. BUT if there is an announcement don't expect it until after CWS. If there is an announcement before that then odds are we will de disappointed.

I did not say what was in place. I asked would you give more. And don't think money can't be pulled back or money that was promised all of a sudden it's decided nope. Come on man.

Do you throw money at bad investments?

Our talent level this year was not great except for Jace and Sorrell. Jace under performed at the plate. Sorrell was hurt for over half the season. Pitching was decent. No wipe out arms except maybe Moss before mono. Catcher and first base were big drop offs. No reason to believe next year's talent will be worse. Hopefully Sorrell and Grahovac will return

No the better statement

No way the coaching can get worse.

Sorry bud

We had talent this year. You don't win against the Hogs and LSU without talent.

What we did not have was coaching. That's how you lose to Mizzou.

So name the position player talent other than Jace, Sorrell and maybe Kent. Jace slumped beginning in the CWS. Sorrell hurt. No disrespect but thinking our talent was overall great is delusional. And didn't come close to last year.

The question wasn't if we had talent this year, it was will we have MORE talent next year. Or are we expecting Earley to do better with the same or less (possibly alot less) talent?
LB12Diamond

Again

You don't win those series without top talent. End of discussion.

If you can't accept that. That's concerning.

As Saban has stated. Coaching is critical when playing teams that your team thinks they are better than. That's when the real coaching occurs to have your players focused and ready. Well, we all know what took place all season in those type of games.

I saw a ranking of Div 1 coaches yesterday. Yeppers, Earley was dead last.
LB12Diamond
How long do you want to ignore this user?
The starting pitching is going to be drastically worse unless we hire a new guy that brings some with him. The one area that was consistent all year and the only reason we're were not 16 in the league instead of 14.
MagnumLoad
How long do you want to ignore this user?
No it's not. Just a convenient end of conversation for you. I think it's really simple. If the Ags that baseball depends on want Earley gone , he's gone. If not he stays. Are you one of the benefactors?

And nane the talent other than what I pointed out.
I hate tu. It's in my blood.
