Totally agree with OP. Very uneven season for Early, but he had some good moments (mixed with some bad). I would be more interested on his exit interviews. If he can identify his mistakes and has a plan to adjust, great. If he chalks this season to be bad luck, might need to evaluate. You would hope to see a plan for improvement moving forward from a first year head coach

I just want to know how you solve the hitting. How do you fix terrible at bats. How did the batting averages go from one of the best to one of the worst. At the very least he needs a replace two or three assistant it seems
You replaced Braden Montgomery with Jamal George and Co. Apply that across the board and you get the drop off we see.
If we keep Earley we need at least one more experienced assistant. We made a lot of dumb mistakes and got outcoached in almost every game. Need someone that doesn't want to deal with recruiting or the modern stuff a head coach has to, just worry about baseball

Earley should come back....as the women's basketball coach.
The lack of talent falls on deaf ears when we beat the good teams and lost to average/bad teams.
If it were a talent issue that would be oppo and your point might be valid.
Losing to the bad/average teams is direct correlation to bad coaching. Don't want to take my word for it, take Saban's. He said the hardest part to coaching was coaching games where your team thought they were the better team.

I'm probably getting too conspiratorial, but I feel like this whole thread is sending up a trial balloon to see how angry people would be if we got Earley Year 2.
The fact that there are 80 people and counting that starred the OP makes me feel like we watched an entirely different baseball season. I'd be surprised if we could get 40 of them to show up and admit that they starred it. But I've been wrong before, and I've been outside for too long.

No, the hardest part about watching this season was to see talented players suffer from being managed by those that had neither the skill or experience to do so and being gaslit to accept the results as just bad timing. Fts

In less than one year we have come from playing in the championship game and being a great program to being one of the biggest laughing stocks in all of college baseball. If Earley is retained it only gets worse. He has to go. However, our athletic department gives out the most ridiculous contracts ever so he's probably going to be back. The fact that Joni Taylor is still here is a good indication.

All my neighbors say I HAVE to hire this contractor because he's the best. Even though he's never actually built a pool before.
I hire him anyway and give him the absolute best and top of the line materials and everything he needs to work with and be successful.
He screws it up so bad that the pool is non-useable.
I sure hope this same contractor is around when I'm ready to build another pool at my new house.

Moreover, the existence of this thread shows that many Ags have already reverted from that lofty peak of competing for championships to our comfortable position -- coach is a good guy, kids try hard and never give up, fighting until time (innings) run out, bad luck, injuries, umps/refs screwed us, tu, but gosh darn it we'll get 'em next year! If you swapped Early and POS' coaching staff, I'm not so certain anything would change. Us taking Earley didn't slow down POS one bit and our batting took a nose dive. We need a HC that knows what he's doingmncag said:
