In all the smoke and haze of this season, do any of the real baseball people on here know if there was a system being implemented here? Does Earley have a plan or a style or something that may be worthwhile in the long run but the current team just couldn't or wouldn't grasp it? Or was he just deer in the headlights all year long? I know what it looked and sounded like, but I'm hoping there's something there yet to emerge because the alternative is a relatively long, slow death. Can Earley be a good coach for a team not trained by SlobDewsh?

I questioned the desire to win for those in charge of and those that have influence on Texas A&M athletics. I hit a nerve with my comments. No need to apologize. I was out of line and voiced my frustration in an unproductive way. It's all good.

Definitely not a description of me.

This season was a roller coaster of emotions and ended in an unimaginable way. But the show goes on. It may be a clown show, but it's the clown show I love and I'll be sunshine pumping at Week 1 again next season. The moaning and groaning comes with the price of admission. Hope our boys take the off-season to reflect and look at how they got here. Only way from here is up…..I think?

I have several reasons to think Earley can get it done. I think he missed the mark because it was postseason or bust, but it wasn't my mark. I thought that was just the established expectation.

I think he coached the team inconsistently. I think our losses can be corrected. I think he showed some unique high points. I think his players-first approach could work. He won a series at Arkansas, something Schloss never did. He got us pointed in the right direction after the failed start to the year.

I don't know if he's the guy. But I don't think it's black and white, and I'm absolutely not convinced he can't win here.

If that's being a patsy for the AD, then I am apparently doing a paid job for free. But I will continue to call out the bleeders who can't possibly comprehend how we didn't fire a coach after one year.

To be fair you started this post by saying you had several reasons why you think he could succeed and you didn't really name any, other than you think his players first approach could work, and referenced the Arky win. Then basically acknowledged all his failures.

It's OK to just say you like him and you are hoping he ends up being the guy. And you may end up being right and I hope you are. But those aren't "reasons" that would lead anyone to think he can get it done. It's just hope.

They have no money because their fan bases have been demanding excellence
