My wife likes to do that thing women do where they look at houses for sale that we could never afford. We were driving on southwest Loop 820 near Benbrook where those mansions are just outside the loop, and my wife starts to looking and there's one for about $6 million dollars. There's a Rangers decal in the pool. Figured a Rangers player wouldn't live all the way out there, plus who do we have that's gonna make that kind of long term investment here. I told my wife to look up who lives there. Sure enough it listed Bob Simpson as the owner. What does it mean??

It is refreshing to see a pitcher of ours that high. All four of these guys ought to get full shots this year. Pretty sure Taveras is on the major league roster all season, barring injury. Dunning will also get the chance.

I know it's fashionable to lament how horrific this team will be in 2021, but let's take a look a twhat's going on here. We are looking towards 2023 here. If we come out of this season with:

1B - ?
2B - Solak
3B - Jung
SS - IKF
LF - ?
CF - Taveras
RF - Gallo
C - Huff

That's 6 of the 8 field positions potentially filled after the 2020 season. And to win a pennant, you need some potential All Stars in there. Gallo and Taveras have that potential. Maybe Jung - we've yet to see.

So yes our starting pitching will be dreadful. But if we can come out of this season with 2-3 controllable starters, I think we've succeeded.

We will learn a lot this season and I'm excited to see these guys play.

Has anyone seen the preview for the E60 Drew Robinson story? I can't find anything about what happened to him online but in the preview it talks about how he is lucky to be alive and he seems to have lost eyesight in one eye.

Yeah if I had to guess that's what I'd say as well. Imagine playing a game and likely dreaming about something all your life and it turns out that you're not quite good enough to sustain being on a team. Especially if you got a taste of it. Can easily see why someone would slip into a deep depression. Mental health is no joke! Nobody is impervious

Highly recommend reading that ESPN article on Robinson if you have the time. Vaguely remember him in a few at bats with the Rangers a couple years ago. It's incredible what he went through, less than a year ago.
