Victor is just not a good shooter yet. And I don't buy the 'keep shooting' if he can't shoot, unless we are trying to tank. He's legitimately hurting our team every game on offense with his shot selection.
On the flip side, Victor is shooting 93% from the FT line. Maybe draw fouls instead of facing up 30 feet away?

It's mind boggling.
You could clearly see in garbage time how much better Bassey is than Collins. There was a reason Bassey won the backup mins from Collins before he went down with an injury last season.

There's numerous video evidence of him shooting very well in practice. He hasn't done it in games yet.
there are thousands upon thousands of players that can look like Steph Curry in practice and make dozens of shots in a row un-guarded or guarded by a 5'9" staff assistant.

True. But if he wasn't hitting in practice we would t be seeing this.
This doesn't sound great.

Got a feeling he's not coming back.

I'd guess his health may prevent that but man. Even if he came back for the last game of the season...that would be amazing but I feel like he'd want about as much fanfare as Tim did when he retired.

Have a buddy inside the building at Spurs HQ. being kept quiet but growing belief that Pop won't be coming back.
Wemby on if he's talked to Pop, "We don't hear a lot from Pop, but let's say they keep us informed as much as we're allowed to know. So, I'm not worried about him. I know he's going to come back soon. But no, we're not talking to him directly that much."

Damn. Same here but haven't repeated it anywhere. Was honestly hoping nobody else had heard it.
There are only 2 teams above 500 in the East right now. I think the league will have to figure out something different for the playoffs at some point. No one wants to watch those East teams.

This! If the Spurs played in the East, I would bet in them making the playoffs. In the West, they MIGHT be a play in team if everything goes right. It's ridiculous.

The positive side of that is that we have a better shot at getting all 4 1st round draft picks.

The negative is that Atlanta can still have a pick in the 20s with a 500 record.
