Great night for capturing the Flagg.



Trae puts up 35 and 15 in the 135-120 loss to the freaking Wizards. Demand out, Trae. You deserve better.

Trae and Risacher combined to go 6-20 from three.

Our guy Bilal was 11-14 for 27 points and 9 boards and 4 stocks.

And in other Spurs draft news, Charlotte beat Toronto without Alabama Josh Jackson.

I've noticed for a while that he gets guarded like he's Steph Curry. He's never sitting open even 25 feet from the basket which is unheard of for a big man. Then if he ever gets the ball he gets swarmed.

I can think of only two solutions. One, the other guys get to be so dangerous they can't help off them so much. Or two, he development a more dangerous inside game. Both Houston and Okc put big guards on him.

There aren't going to be very many Ws if we keep up this turnover pace. We are dead last in the league with 18.8 per game.

If Giannis requests a trade out of Milwaukee, should the Spurs make a move for him, giving up the majority of their draft assets? If Sochan had to be part of the equation would you still do it?

I think my answer would be no to both. I'd have to think about it if Giannis was a couple years younger though.

I want to see what we are like with Vassell back at 100%. I think we are at least 500 with him on the floor at this point. Victor is playing poorly and we are turning the ball over way too much but we are still a poor shooting team. And until we are not, Victor is going to be double and triple teamed for the foreseeable future.

TBH I'm worried about the size of Victor's hands. It looks like he shoots the ball from his palm and his passes are often out of control such as last night. Maybe it's nothing though.

Nah. They are going to want something like Vassell+Sochan+Tre+ the Atlanta picks and some of our own picks.

He turns 30 in a month and already has 800 games in the NBA. This gives us a ~4 year tiimeline to win for all those assets, but still don't have a good SF, SG, PG or anything else around the two of them.

Pop I think needs to be a little bit more strategic in his lineup choices. We can't be running Collins-Sochan-Keldon-Wesley-Castle or something similar. There are times where there are 4 or 5 non-shooters out there, we really need to have at least 2 of Barnes-Champagnie-CP3-Mamu-Branham-Minix out there at all times. Everyone else (except Vic) gets dared to shoot by opposing defenses.
  • We need Dev back badly so our bench can have at least one shooter when Barnes or Julian provide some help
  • If Keldon can't get back to being a shooter that teams close out on then he will not be here next year
  • We are the most turnover-happy team in the league and that needs to change, we can't be a below average shooting team and also turn the ball over more than anyone else
  • Really liking the defensive intensity, especially from Jeremy and Blake

Keldon also still makes very poor defensive decisions. To your point, I think continuing to play Keldon in important minutes is on Pop. We all know what Keldon is and what his deficiencies are. I'm not even going to get mad at him anymore because he shouldn't even be on the floor in the first place in the guts of the game.

The somewhat simple counter would be to get Wemby down on the block with a wing guarding him.

Problem is we don't have the shooters or spacing to make teams pay when teams predictably swarm him.

Yeah, and it's not like Sochan is just letting the Center take him out. He's been attacking at a pretty aggressive clip.

It's been weird to watch how teams play Wemby. They treat him like a wing star. It's unfortunate that he can't get into a rhythm like most players. So the counter that Pop needs to find ways to get him the ball in better spots. Obviously the ideal scenario would be for Wemby to develop one or two consistent moves on the block. It's kinda crazy that he doesn't have one already. I know he doesn't want to be a traditional big but he's got to realize that he'll be guarded by elite perimeter players as long as he stays out there.

The Spurs issue is simple:

Franchise cornerstone surrounded by a bunch of JAGs that other teams don't have to guard. Spurs need talent, shooting and depth.

The Spurs issue is simple:

Franchise cornerstone surrounded by a bunch of JAGs that other teams don't have to guard. Spurs need talent, shooting and depth.
They are going to shoot better than they have so far. This has been dreadfully bad. The good news is the defense overall looks pretty tough.

And it's also a reality that Wemby is not strong enough on the block to go up against a lot of these wings even.
