The veteran leadership is huge in the 4th qtr. Barnes made some really good plats down the stretch.

If Sochan keeps up this performance this year, it's going to be really interesting to see how we handle his rookie extension. If he makes an all defensive team, is a MIP candidate and is part of a playin contender, it's going to be really hard not to give him a similar contract to what Devin received.

This man is getting traded for sure within the next 12 months. Cavs, Knicks, and Celtics are 3 of next 4 games.

I don't think that the Spurs are a great destination for him, though. Obviously Wemby/Giannis pairing would be pretty insane on defense, but overall I think it is a bad fit.

* Giannis can't shoot. Wemby/Spurs needs spacing.
* I dont think his game will age well as his athletic ability begins to slip. His superpower is having Jordan-like athleticism at 7' tall. But he doesn't have a post game like Duncan or a shot like LeBron to rely on as his athleticism wanes. This means any team that trades for him has a 2-4 year window.
* Spurs don't have enough good players that we could keep to play roles around them. Trade would probably look like Devin+Sochan+Castle+picks for Giannis, but that would give us probably the worst 3-8 rotation players in the league. I think we would be a lot like the Post 2020 Lakers. Good enough for 42-47 wins most years, not good enough to win 50+ and really contend for a championship.

I think Houston could make the right deal, but if it happens during the season, it can't include Green and Sengun. Dillon Brooks, Tari Eason, Jabari Smith, and Amen Thompson plus picks works.

Also, Utah has a ton of draft capital and could do something like ton of draft picks, Collins, Clarkson and two recent draft picks (Kessler, Hendricks, Isaiah Collier, Cody Williams, Keyonte George, Kyle Flipkowski, etc) and have a big three of Giannis, Lauri, and Collin Sexton plus whatever else is left over.

Warriors could do TJD, Wiggins, Kuminga, and Melton plus picks. Gives them Giannis, Draymond, Steph, SloMo, Buddy and Podz.

OKC could do Giannis for Isaiah Joe, Caruso, and Dort plus an insane number of picks. They could add Cason Wallace and it works financially, too. All those guys could be flipped for firsts. Without Wallace, it saves Milwaukee almost 10M in salary. I don't think OKC would break up what they have at this point or give up a significant amount of their war chest, but how insane would a roster of Hartenstein, Chet, Giannis, Jalen, SGA be? Then still have Dieng, Wallace, Wiggins. What sucks for Milwaukee is their 2025 pick goes to Brooklyn if it is 1-4 and New Orleans if it is 5-30, so they have to make two separate deals to make sure they get it back. Pelicans hold their swap rights for 2026 and pick in 2027. Then Portland owns their next three picks.

I think Brooklyn obviously plans to tank a couple years, but they could straight up trade Ben Simmons and Milwaukee's 1-4 pick next year for Giannis. Nets have a ton of other picks they own, too. But if Milwaukee wants to tank, getting Ben Simmons for Giannis seems right, especially if you add a guy like Clowney or something.

New Orleans holds two picks and a swap from Milwaukee, but they dont have good salaries to be included, assuming they wont include Herb Jones. I also don't know how well Zion+Giannis would work together since both are ball dominant PFs that want a stretch center. New Orleans wants to dump Brandon Ingram, which is a problem because no one wants him or his 4y200MM contract demand. NOLA also has major cap issues going forward.

Orlando has 4 picks and several swaps they can trade. Anthony Black, Jon Issac, and Gary Harris work financially. That would save Milwaukee $9M in cap space right now, get them out of the 2nd apron and allow them to put more than one player in a trade. Issac makes $25M this year, but 15M/year each of the next 4 years.

Collins is trash. It was a great gamble when they signed him but he's a liability out there.

Sochan sets the tone for this team. It's noticeable when he can't be out there. I hope this injury isn't serious.
