Latest ESPN mock draft has Fears to the Rockets at 11 (via PHX), Jase Richardson to the Heat at 12, then the Mavs taking Nolan Traore at 13.
I have not done a ton of draft intel yet, but Traore seems very Elfrid Payton-y to me. The shooting percentages are so scary I wouldn't to do it.
Fears and Richardson are some of my favorites so far, so them going in the two picks before the Mavs would really hurt.

I'd kill for fears if we can snag him
His 3PT% is a little concerning also, but at least he has the elite FT% on high volume to give you some hope. Turnovers are pretty high for him also.zgolfz85 said:

I agree, and I think Fears is much better at running offense, which is what we need more than anything.

Even the most Stockholm Syndrome diehard Mavs fans have to be asking themselves what they are supporting at this point. Their entire base case is that they know more about basketball than the rest of us, but this unfunny Tommy Boy running the show doesn't understand anything at all about the sport.
And Nico is an absolute laughingstock who got bent over in the most public and embarrassing fashion maybe ever in sports.

At this point most of the damage is done though. I haven't watched an NBA game since the trade and sold whatever tickets I had remaining (except for these DAL vs BKN tickets that no one seems to want, can't imagine why). It sucks since following the NBA and Mavs has been a fun hobby for a long time. But there are enough other entertainment options and things to do in DFW. Sports are entertainment which is supposed to be fun. It's not worth following if you actively loathe the organization.
I'm still hoping they lose in the hopes that they blow it up ASAP and fire Nico. At minimum I'm not following this dumpster fire until Nico is gone. Unfortunately I don't expect that to be until after 25-26. There is still more damage he can do on his way out the door. I fully expect him to do it as well considering he has no accountability and doesn't have to answer for anything beyond 2026. He knows he won't be here. Considering the bind they are in, they only way out is an immediate selloff of the roster (AD, PJ, etc...) and try to reclaim at least 2 of your 4 missing FRPs if possible. If you can get out of the play-in this year, tank hard next year, get at least 2/4 of your FRPs back, and keep Lively, then you maybe have something small to build on. To think that this organization was just in the finals last year...

Supposedly, AD is the one who wants to come back. There is no point in this unless Lively and/or Gafford is/are also able to come back. You have a real chance to make it out of the play-in with that team and can sell a vision for next year, even if there's no chance at making any kind of run this year.
Unfortunately, the Suns are playing so poorly and have such a hard remaining SOS that I highly doubt they can catch the Mavs for 10th. Mavs are very likely going to be in the play-in, no matter how hard they try to not make it.

Still upset we only saw this lineup for 14 games. A lineup that posted the 5th best Net Rating and 2nd best Off Rating (of lineups 100+ min). We suffered massive bad luck with the Lively and Luka injuries, but how Nico could see this lineup club teams and still decide to blow it up....I'll never understand it.

Yeah it looks like Kai Jones and Hardy will become available, PJ is back, and Caleb Martin can at least suit up if he has to. Forfeit is not going to happen, even though it would be hilarious.
