I think a positive we can take from tonight is that OMax can still be a rotational player. Hopefully he can take some confidence from tonight. Maybe its because this kind of helter skelter game fits his style, but he looked like he belonged against a good team.

I think a loss here is good for the team.

We have the stupid illness still ravaging its way thru the locker room and luka could probably use the rest to recover and heal more from his injuries.

Just rest and get better. Let's worry about the season that matters.

We play the loser of golden state or Houston on Sunday. So it's not a 9 day break. It's a road or a home game depending on who loses tonight (home against Houston or road against warriors). Thats what the ticket rep said at least.

Really interesting point from Iztok. It really did seem like a typical Mavs playoff Game 1 last night.

It was like they played the game so they could get the scouting report on OKC. Meanwhile, OKC had a very specific gameplan to negate the Mavs defensive style that went against a lot of their own tendencies (shooting 50 3s.)

Jokic is the best player in the game right now, but nobody is better than this version of Luka. if he ever finds the gear to sustain this over the course of a full season it'll be the greatest season in NBA history.

Same for Kuzma. I believe the Mavs were talking to the Wizards but Kuzma said no. What a loser.

It's crazy that in the past 24 months they got PJ, Kyrie, Klay, Lively, Naji, Exum, Gafford, and Grimes for only 3 FRP (plus cap space, a FRP swap and some second rounders). By itself that would be a solid team even without Luka, just maybe not a title contender.

For reference, Mikal Bridges by himself cost the Knicks 5 FRP (plus a FRP swap).

Saw the final score of the game and thought it was nice of the Mavs to give a throw back game to the 19-20 season. Then saw that it was just an insane shot making game for both teams. Sounds like y'all got a good one to watch.

I don't disagree...he's a crowd favorite, but I feel like we should get some value out of him while we still can.

Maxi's theoretical skillset is so good to have in the playoffs. Guys that can provide rim protection while switching on to anyone defensively and stretch the floor offensively are so valuable.

Unfortunately it is just theoretical at this point. He's older and oft injured. He's also completely lost his confidence from 3.

Not sure what kind of value he has since he's not an expiring contract until next season. But he likely has to be in any trade that returns a decent player just because of contracts. Maxi and Hardy get you to about $17 million.

Pretty wild to watch this team with no Luka or Kyrie...

Apparently Luka got a heel contusion in the GS game and hasn't practiced at all since then. Kyrie they said he has had shoulder soreness.
