Definitely not pretty, but good to get back in the win column.

Lucky we have played the spurs and jazz because all 3 games have looked sloppy to say the least.

When we first got PJ and Gafford, we lost a lot early. Kidd is figuring out the rotation and the guys are learning how to play off each other.

They will be roaring along soon enough.

Was thinking about this recently. Both A&M under Buzz and the Mavs under Kidd usually start off slow but are playing their best ball at the end of the year. Makes it frustrating early and also annoying when you are at the end of the year thinking you could be a higher seed if not for plying so poorly early. But it is probably more conducive to postseason success.

Luka is playing pretty poorly to start after no pre-season, but the Mavs are still winning. That is a very good sign going forward and that wasn't happening even last year. Obviously to win a championship Luka has to be 100% healthy and locked in starting April 2025, but right now this team has enough players to throw at you to get results every night. And even on an off night Luka will still throw a dagger in your face.

Crazy what a roster turnaround by Nico in the last 24 months. 2 years ago on opening night the Mavs started JaVale McGee (out of league), Reggie Bullock (out of the league), and Spencer Dinwiddie. A huge part of this turnaround was that 2 game tank job that made Bill Simmons mad and then barely holding onto the #10 pick. That allowed them to pickup Lively. Crazy to think about where they would be otherwise.

It's just amazing that Luka can have a 27-8-8 "off night".

Also that Ant was going insane almost outscoring Dallas in the first and Dallas battles back to win. Really great win.

Also interesting that Grimes at -1 was the only negative +/- - really was a team win. Everyone except Hardy had a steal.

I think Minnesota is going to really regret not getting a real backup PG and just going with Conley/Ant/Randle. They play Washington again tonight then Sacramento.

Yeah we know the roster is in a good spot when we can win on the second night of a home road back to back against a top 4 team when Luka has a pretty bad game. Klay was a little off last night too.

Kyrie, PJ, Gafford, Lively all had good games, Grimes made a few big shots and Naji made some really good plays despite not scoring. That steal on Ant at the end of the game was awesome.

We haven't played anywhere near our best ball yet and are 3-1. Rockets will be another fun test tomorrow.

Seemed like Minnesota was trying to make sure Klay didn't beat them. Klay really hurt the spurs and the jazz. It's gotta be nearly impossible to stop klay, Kyrie, and luka at the same time tho.

Having no Lively is rough. This Luka-Kai-Klay-Naji-PJ lineup is fun on offense but it is getting absolutely abused on defense.

The only person who loves playing the Mavs more than Myles Turner is Julius Randle…

Naji Marshall breakout the past 2 games.

Indiana's offense is beautiful to watch. The number of high percentage shots and layups they generate against NBA defenses is mind boggling.

This game is close only because Dallas has three elite shot makers but the difference in degree of difficulty for these offenses is striking.

I genuinely can't remember the last time I saw this many layups in an NBA game

They made us pay on every switch. There is so much space for them to operate in every part of the court.

And we suck against them and Turner is a hall of famer against the Mavs.

The pacers always butt **** the mavs.

Emptying the bench with a majority of the time remaining in the 4th quarter. Didn't have PJ or Lively either. It still feels like we are leaving some meat on the bone too.

Naji continues to look awesome despite the 3 not falling yet. He's so much fun to watch.
