There is no way a GM trades a generational top 3 player in the league at 25yo without talking to the coach and the owner.

I'm a very casual fan that only watches in the playoffs and isn't particularly invested in the outcome, but I suspect that a lot of fans aren't going to feel any better even if they found a way to win the championship. I think they could rip off 20 straight wins, have AD average 35/20 the rest of the way, and most fans would still feel like "f*** off, I don't care."

Overnight, they have lost over 800k followers on Instagram. I have seen a lot of people on Twitter posting that they canceled their season tix or opted out of the Mavs streaming service. This team should be dead to everyone that has supported it.

I've never wished to see one of my teams implode more. Even when Jerry was doing dumb **** . I want to see an absolute crash and burn. They just made Jerry Jones seem like the responsible one in town

Weight issues (270)
Lazy at times
Whiner
Constant injury issues
Extremely expensive
He's been playing professionally 10 years. Doesn't take care of himself.
Teammates getting tired of his show.


I was always angry that with his talent and magic that if he put in the time, took care of his body, and didn't play year round that he could bring championships.

He just might be done.

But damn, I loved watching him play!

I hope they move to LV so we get an expansion team. I honestly don't think I can root for this team anymore. Would much rather have an expansion team.

And yea trading someone so that we don't pay them a supermax could have major ramifications for free agents. If you treat your own star player like that, I think free agents will take notice.

Another dumb thing out of the millions of dumb things about the trade: if we were dead set on trading him to the lakers (which we were bc Nico talked to one team), why not at least get two firsts? lakers could have given us two firsts. It still would have been the worst trade in league history even if they did. But we didn't even make them give us two firsts? Like they were going to say no if we demanded two firsts?

Surreal. An absolute wizard with the ball. A generational talent. Not only the face of the franchise, but the potential face of the league.

And he wanted to be in Dallas.

I'm actually rooting against the Mavs because success on the court benefits Nico. I think I would have been happy watching Luka play for the next 10 year without a championship rather that the Mavs win one without him. (Not going to happen though because the FO just gutted this team for free)

LOL. This is logic I went thru in my head this AM but didn't post because it makes no sense

I truly think Nico went down a rabbit hole in his own head in frustration with Luka and didn't consult anyone. Got lost in his own head dwelling on the negative and pulled the trigger before anyone sane had the chance to talk him out of it
