This would be like the Bills trading Josh Allen to the Rams for Matt Stafford. I don't get it.
The Mavericks approached the Lakers recently and offered Luka Doncic, sources tell ESPN. Lakers brass met and believed the 25-year-old Doncic has the ability to be the face of their franchise for the next decade while giving Anthony Davis a win-now move in Dallas.

Surely there is something else for some sort of wing star coming in. Having a center trio of AD/Lively/Gafford make no sense. Klay being here doesn't even make as much sense now.
I wonder if they are pulling the plug on Lively also because of his inability to stay healthy.

So the answer to concerns about conditioning and injuries was to trade for ANTHONY DAVIS?! A player 7 years older already on a supermax deal and who has missed something like a fourth of his career due to injury?!

I think this trade is worse. This is one of the worst trades ever unless Luka has some kind of major medical injury and this is pawning him off to Kars-for-Kids as a donation because he doesn't work anymore.
Word is new Mavs forward Anthony Davis is good with going to Dallas and has a solid relationship with team president Nico Harrison’s dating back to the latter’s Nike days. Now Davis also has centers to play next to him in Dallas.
