I'm old enough now and having watched several special NBA starts like Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, MJ, Shaq, Kobe, LeBron, Curry, Duncan etc....those extremely special players...and Curry is definitely one of them...you just never know how long they are going to last and I appreciate it now more watching those types of players. Its special basketball.
You might not be aware of this, but there are tons of people out there who are very upset that KD joined the warriors. They feel like he "broke" the NBA. I agree with this assessment. The NBA hasn't been competitive and it really hasn't been a watchable product since KD ( who is a top 3 NBA player) joined a 70 win team.

A lot of people forget it, but the warriors benefitted from an unprecedented spike to the salary cap at the same time that Durant became an unrestricted free agent while he was playing for the okc thunder. They wouldn't have been able to bring him on board otherwise. That is unbelievably lucky.

In 2015, the warriors went through the playoffs and seemingly every team they faced had injury trouble. To top it all off, the warriors faced the Cavs in the finals with both Kevin love and Kylie Irving hurt.

In 2017, the spurs were taking it too the warriors and were going to win game 1 in the WCF until Zaza injured Kawhi Leonard on purpose and ruined what would've been an awesome series.

In 2018, the warriors were on the ropes against the rockets in the WCF. Right on queue, Chris Paul goes down and the warriors roll.

I resent the warriors because they seem to be a blessed team who gets all the breaks. They're already by far the most talented team in the field, why do they have to be the luckiest as well?

I'm grateful that the nba finals are watchable now because they haven't been the last few years.

The Warriors have become so detestable that I cannot get any enjoyment out of watching them play...its like Texas to me. They could have their version of Johnny Manziel, Bo Jackson, and Calvin Johnson on the field at the same time and I would not be able to get into.
Ha ha, well I'll admit that the Longhorns are the one organization I seem to enjoy wishing bad feelings for no matter what.

Hmm...I happen to be a longtime NBA fan and my favorite team in the '80's was Showtime Lakers. Then I loved watching Jordan and the Bulls and Olajuwon's Rockets in the 90's. Liked the Shaq/Kobe Lakers and the Duncan-Manu-Parker Spurs. I guess I am a 'bandwagon' fan of great NBA teams. And the Warriors obviously are one of those.

Though I guess the only great team I didn't like and seemed to lean towards rooting against was that Lebron-Wade-Bosh Miami team. I guess The Decision thing and how that team came together kind of did kill it for me.

And Durant did also do that a little bit for the Warriors...but with him gone, I tend to find myself rooting for them again.

To me they are detestable outside of Durant. The narrative that Curry is some humble golden boy despite being a complete narcissist and making an ass out of himself on the court floors me. Kerr is a virtue signaling arrogant d-bag. Draymond is well, Draymond. They catch every lucky break and get every favorable call. I just absolutely loathe them.

I get what you mean about appreciating all time great teams. I was too young to enjoy the Shaq-Kobe Lakers or anything prior to that, but I did enjoy those Spurs teams, I honestly did not mind the Heat too much either. The Warriors attitude and what they have done to the NBA just ruined them for me.

They dream scenario originally, though give them credit for drafting well. But they got Curry to sign his first big deal on the cheap due to his horrible ankle issues earlier in his career. That, combined with the salary cap spikes allowed them to pay Green/Thompson max deals and still have money to build out fantastic depth + go get another max salary in KD.

IIRC the league didn't want to spike the cap so quickly but the players union did. So in this case, you do hate the player, not the game. Well...the other players in the league that is.

The linked article doesn't elaborate on what happened but in real time last night it sounded like Lowry ran over the guy in his courtside seat while going after a ball out of bounds and the guy pushed him off. At least one of the announcers was defending the fan. Did video review show more?

I guess if they banned him from the rest of the series there must have been more.

Guy made a dumb move.

The guy that shoved him didn't even get hit by Lowry

Thanks.

I had to watch it a couple of times and look at the still photo to realize what happened. I was focused on the guy on the other side who looked like he was pulling Lowry's jersey.

He gone.

It took me a few times to see that too. I was honed in on the couple of people Lowry did plow over and they didn't do anything.

Game 4 should be very interesting. What if GS gets down 3-1, KD returns and saves them? Wouldn't that be something.

So the fines are only enforceable so long as you want to continue owning a piece of it, right? Otherwise, he can just say **** off.

Well deserved punishment. Before watching the video and not knowing what happened, I was looking to see if maybe Lowry had fallen directly into the guy himself or his wife or companion, which might have elicited a reflexive shove...but that wasn't the case. The guy appeared to just reach out and shove him. And then on top of that, being a part owner of the Warriors....ouch..seems absolutely appropriate by the NBA to really hammer that guy.

Yeah, this was a trash move. Right after it happened, I thought Lowry had jumped into him and I could understand pushing Lowry just in the heat of the moment after a grown man landed on top of you. But, Lowry was nowhere near him and this move is unacceptable. I think the punishment is fair.

Or, basically what pumpkin said. Whoops

I doubt it. The NBA is filled with overreacting witch hunters. He will sell his minority ownership stake before his ban is lifted.

I saw some rumors that this might actually happen, which I think is a bit much, but at least the billionaire will get to cash in

Worse, after a lifetime of accumulating wealth and accolades, this will be forever what defines him to the general public. Reaching out to push an opposing player while he's partially prone, shouting at Lowry to engage in impossible acts with himself, the pictured sneer, and being banned by the organization he partially owns.

Those Stanford guest lecturer appointments are likely done.

20 seconds of indiscretion. It will be interesting the tact he takes to fall on sword.

You know Warriors fans are delighted that after years of the team being cast as the villain in most narratives, and then getting to delight in a run without K.D. being hung like an albatross about their neck, someone in ownership stepped up to the plate to flip the script back to them being villains again.

Until Lowry gets a teammate to throw an errant pass so he can make a diving save, taking that old white dude out.

I feel like we're going to find out after the series that Kawhi played on a sprained mcl the entire time or something. He just refuses to speed it up. Definitely managing his body.

Leonard with 14/17 1st quarter points for Toronto.

Everyone else in red is missing like the guy who wears goggles at the local pickup game.

Klay Thompson is such a baller, one of my top-5 players in the NBA. Has a textbook perfect jumper. Raptors have been trying to guard him with the much smaller Lowry and Klay is just shooting over him.
Bunk Moreland
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Yeah. Heard on a show the other day someone saying that Klay is the only star player in the NBA that could fit on every team no matter how they were currently built.

I agree completely with that.
