I will say that playing Mount and Dalot on the left side of your formation says A LOT. A lot about Carrick, a lot about Wilcox, a lot about Ratcliffe, and a lot about the Glazers.

I'd prefer either Conte (for as long as it might last) or Nagelsman over Howe. I just don't like English managers in general. No English manager has won a title in the premier league era.

I'm not sure what Howe has done to deserve a "big" club like United. And I mean that he neither has done nothing to warrant such an honor nor has he done anything to warrant such abuse.

I'm trying to imagine Conte with this squad. And what I imagine isn't pretty.

I don't think the Eddie Howe picture is particularly rosy either.

Anyway, 6 days till Chelsea. Other than the international break, that's the last time United will have 6 days between games till Xmas. If United don't pull the trigger tomorrow and bring in a new manager the same day, it will be more inexcusable than Carrick's performances this season.

No chance in hell there is a new manager Monday. There might be someone besides Carrick but at best they will be a warm body. They will take 2 weeks minimum to decide on a long term solution. And by long term I mean someone for the rest of the season. Because the way things have gone with the last 2 new guys, 7 months would be about all they will survive.

Man, he absolutely has to go but anytime I hear or read Carrick statements, I can't help but feel bad. Was the same with Ole. Good people who try and do good things for the club.

Our former players turned managers may have their limitations, but I respect them a hell of a lot more than I respect Keane, Neville, and the like. Seriously just wish those last two would **** right off.

Twitter is saying that on Match of the Day on the BBC they were reporting that the owners were in discussion on Carrick's future; I think it's over. That doesn't usually end up with a conclusion of "and they decided he was doing a great job." Although our owners do like to avoid paying out contracts as much as they can so I guess there is some slight possibility.

I mean, maybe I'm just projecting my own interpretations onto my perceptions, but in the post-match interviews, he sure looked like he thought it was over to me; I'm not sure he could look much more sad if someone shot his dog in front of him.

They should sack the players and DoF. And themselves. But they won't. So Carrick takes the fall.

I honestly feel bad for Carrick. He's going to take the fall, and he hasn't done himself any favors, but it starts at the top. Until the Glazers and INEOs are gone, it won't change.

There is a conspiracy theory on Twitter that they wanted to go for Eddie Howe, but because he was under contract, we would apparently need to pay Newcastle. (A Newcastle reporter said they would be owed 6M… and we may not want to pay that.)

I call it a conspiracy theory but… boy, it sure sounds like something that could actually be true, doesn't it?

There is hope for the future. Apparently if the Glazers sell the club before Feb 2027, they have to pay Jim $33/share which makes him whole on his investment. After February they can sell at any price they want and Jim gets whatever they negotiate. So let's all pray the Glazer family members that have wanted to sell for awhile win out next year.

Welp, any shred of benefit I was able to give the the "leaders" of this club is gone. Arguably some shrewd transfers...or at least better transfers...in the last few summers, but it can't make up for the overall ineptitude. The fact that it's Tuesday morning and Carrick is still in this purgatory of "will they/won't they" is absurd.

Buckle up everyone. We have not one, but two distinct sets of incompetent decision makers at the club. And the entire soccer world can't wait to see what harm their next incompetent decision brings to the club and its fans.

The depth of leadership ineptitude at this club rivals the Mariana Trench.

Aaaand, reports are that Carrick is staying. At least for Chelsea. I'm sure we'll be back here next week after the multigoal loss coming our way.

Honestly, just cruel to keep him employed and likely driven only by the fact that the owners don't want to pay him off. There is no chance he can turn this around. The inertia of the moment is far too great. Time and time again we see that once the club hits this point, it's never going to get out without a change. Other clubs can maybe work their way out of something like this but United can't because of so many internal and external factors.

That poor ******* has to sit and take it.

the "leadership" are such pathetic morons. if they really believed in Carrick, they would have come right out after the last game and said something to the effect "we like the fans just showed believe in Carrick as the manager of this club. the results have not been up to the status of the club and everyone shares in that responsibility. but, we will continue to do everything in our power to support Carrick. yada yada".

or they could have come out and said, this is not working like we hoped. we thank Carrick for everything he has done at this club. he's a legend and will always be appreciated. however, we have decided to go in a new direction.

instead they once again did the most ***** footed thing they could possibly do. why? because they are not leaders. they are totally out of their depth.
