That was the most uninspired half of football I have seen from United in a long time. Lucky to just be down by 1.

This squad is better on paper than the one from last year. It lost Casemiro but gained Santos, Baleba and Rashford. It shouldn't be worse. Sure injuries to Sesko and Shaw are real but it's still the same core that was improved.

It shouldn't be this much worse.

Don't even have a SOG. I could understand staying the course if there were at least signals of improvement or quality but there's nothing. These performances are Rangnickesque. Carrick has to go. I get no one wants to do it but there's no chance this gets better.

This feels a lot like the Watford game that ended Ole. I doubt they actually do it before Bournemouth, but it sure feels inevitable.

Just get Conte in. He'll at least make us better defensively and the blow up will be entertaining

I am a City fan mainly because I really like Haaland. But UTD is the team that originally got me into EPL years ago. What the heck is going on with UTD?

You've got an Ag Tag so easiest way to describe it is that United is kinda like A&M in that despite having tons of resources and support, they just can't seem to perform up to their potential. The fact that the problems seem to persist across a lot of different managers and changes to other top leadership points to some systemic problems that you have to assume go to the very top of the club. There is a group of un-fireable people that need to either go away, get out of the way, or magically get their s### together before things will get better.

If you're talking about this season specifically, we just don't have very many good players and if there is any kind of broader strategy about what kind of team we are trying to assemble and what brand of football we are going to play it is not obvious to me. But this is all a symptom of what I described above.

Gotcha. Admittedly I have not followed EPL for a while, until Haaland and the World Cup this year reignited my interest. Appreciate the insights into UTD troubles.

If you've been away for a while make sure you also read up on City's troubles as well. Different brand of s### show but worse in a lot of ways. Whether I'd trade situations with City depends on how hard they end up dropping the hammer. If this was the NCAA they'd get nothing more than a strongly worded letter and it would be totally worth it. Supposedly the EPL is super pissed but I guess I'll believe it when I see it.

Yeah I am aware of the charges City is facing and the initial guilty findings. Not sure what to make of it and what will happen. I just want to watch Haaland score goals.

This feels a bit like a Hail Mary. I don't necessarily disagree with the move. He's been playing poorly and in a normal circumstance, saying what he said would be a reasonable cause for sitting a game. If Carrick somehow gets a performance and win out of this lineup, it could be something.

This may be the collectively slowest set of players that we could possibly have fielded. There is a complete lack of pace at any position.

I think the most maddening thing is that we can't create anything and when we do, we insist upon either a long range shot or a lofted cross to our 5' 7" striker. Just no idea what we are attempting to do with the ball in the final third no matter whether it's a counter or facing a low block.
