The defending and giving up 53 goals is utterly and completely unacceptable. Definitely agree there. The attacking I don't blame slot much for because of the players he's been given to work with. Old Salah, mid Gakpo, etc. just isn't good enough talent imo. Bournemouth with Semenyo (first half of the season), Kroupi Jr, Kluivert, Jimenez, and Evalison is a better group and fit of players than what we have. Wirtz, Isak and Ekitike are world class, but after those three it falls off a cliff and their fit with the others is very poor.

I think we can still finish top five if they make a change, but I doubt they will. For as **** as slot has been this year at times, the players don't help him out at all. We make so many individual bone headed plays that lead directly to goals.

It's time for this club to move in a completely new direction. Let the Klopp era go, let those players go, and form a new identity under a new young manager who's creative, innovative and jovial.

If Alonso is out there and was candidate No. 1 the first time around, you kick Slot to the curb faster than you can blink. If he wasn't out there I think there's a much more real argument you continue to rebuild this summer. Problem now is making CL ball.

Yes, Slot won the league and tweaked the team enough to get more out of them than Klopp did. No one will take that away. But that team is gone. Those players are gone. And while again I think the front office deserves a heap of criticism for this group of players and their shortcomings, it still falls on the manager. Especially for how unbelievably soft, fragile and undisciplined they have been for a good bit now.

Seen a bit of the national response from our game yesterday, and I am a bit surprised at the amount of flak the players are getting. Yes the pot has boiled over with ''Slot Out" and there is more than enough of that, but I did not think the players would be getting raked over the coals like I have seen even though I wholeheartedly agree.

Some of the player regression has been flat out shocking, and you might also put some of that on Slot, but at the end of the day as a player you still have to turn up and play and play well, and too many guys have not this year. Just to name a few: Virgil, Konate, Mac Allister, Salah and Gakpo have all regressed and been different levels of crap at time this year. That's five of a starting eleven that are so far off it it's hard to put into words. And it's not just general performances that are not up to the standards they have set, it's massive massive missed chances or mistakes that lead directly to goals against.

I still believe our failures this year are organizational from top to bottom more than anything, including Slot. But the players deserve their fair share of grief as well for what's gone on because the individual performances just have not been good enough this year.

This reminds me a lot of the 2021 season. A complete reversal of the luck we rode at times last year, key major injuries, and other teams figuring out they just have to survive the first 30 minutes.

For me, the biggest problem moving forward is what the team should do about it. Our roster is now a mix of veterans who played a particular style (high-press coupled with possession) without the legs to play that style any more and newer players that are "total football" types. Meanwhile, the EPL has decided to go against what the rest of the continent is doing and allow rugby on the pitch (if you don't believe me, watch any UCL game and witness the complete change in how the refs call the games). We do not have a physical midfield, and that is not going to change over night. There is also no guarantee the EPL won't change its refereeing standards this summer and decide to start calling basic fouls again. My biggest issue with Slot is that our style has changed so much with the loss of Diaz and it seems like we haven't made any attempt to recapture some of what worked last year. I can think of very few times this season where Salah received the ball on a counter attack and had a runner along side or in front of him. He didn't just score goals last year, he was one of our most important chance creators.

Rumors are swirling that Slot could be out. Nothing official yet, but there are some leaks out there that indicate that Slot is going to get the boot if he hasn't already. We'll see what happens.
