I'm very very surprised we didn't get anything on Isak yesterday. I don't love that.

Just have to see what happens at this point in the 11th hr. Supposedly Liverpool saying they will not bid against themselves and not more than $120. Lots of posturing for sure on both sides.

Also, Romano says Liverpool were offered several quality alternatives to Isak but they turned them all down. If so, they definitely went Isak or bust here.

- Newcastle have been clear in their stance that they don't intend to sell Alexander Isak this summer and that they would expect something around 150m.

Let's see if that proves to be the case by the end of the window. They stick to their guns, or maybe there is a compromise that is to be reached.

Going nowhere upfront. No shots on goal. Kerkez getting smoked but recovering at least. But playing with fire causing all these corners.

Wirtz is really struggling still and Arsenal controlling the midfield.

Kerkez playing much smarter with his head but still struggling with speed. We're really really struggling to get the ball to Wirtz and then Wirtz to distribute it from there. We've got to get him in pockets where he has an extra second on the ball.

Not getting the front guys the ball, including Wirtz, is my biggest issue with this team so far. Some of thr defensive stuff I think is a blip, but the lack of production getting the big guys the ball seems consistent and like it's not getting fixed.

Agree. The Wirtz experiment isn't working yet and the midfield is constantly getting worked. When they do have any chances it's completely out of sync up front and just blows up.

I have no doubts about Wirtz quality as a player, but the way they are using him just hasn't clicked. I wonder if trying him on the left isn't too far off. Just to try something different. Try to grab more control.

I also wonder whether maybe Wirtz on thr left would give you a little more umph in the press. Gakpo is so not a press player it could help turn teams over.

Yep. And you can tell frustration is building. Grav shoots a mile away while Salah an others are open in space. Salah visibly frustrated with arms up.

And that's where we miss Diaz (he is killing it for Bayern so far). He can press, create individually and caused turnover constantly.

Was good to see the offense start to flow better in the second half. Hopefully just a cramp for Wirtz because he was starting to get into a groove.

Second half was much better. I think wirtz will find it. Agree that maybe trying him on the left is a move. Will be nice after break with Fri pong back (and hopefully Bradley healthy) could go back to last years MF with Wirtz on the left.
